"Which implies"

Sounds like part of a mathematical proof.

yes but the question was?

In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird, now the world is weird and they take prozac to make it normal again.

got it in one (in fact part of juggling related maths)

unfortunatly equation editor doesn't work in HOP so you'll just have to take my word that the idenitiy which was mean to be implied by the which implies only only does so after much manipulation and substution. but I figured it out

erm... this looked like a relative place to post this:

When you square negative numbers, are they supposed to come out positive or is my calculator just not accepting the negative number?

I type in -9.5 and square it and it comes back as 90.25.... is it supposed to?

*Stupid statistics that I've never done before and am learning out of a piss poor book*

when you multiply two negative numbers together, the negatives cancel each other out...i.e. -1 * -1 = 1 and -1 * 1 = -1.

My pet peeve in college calculus was "So from this, you can see that..."

"NO, Professor! I can't see that. You just breezed right over about 20 algebraic steps right then and there and I have no idea how you went from equation 12 to equation 13. I know you're brilliant, but my mind can't push numbers around quite that quickly. Would you mind just humoring me by showing me step 10? Or maybe steps 5, 10, and 15?"

Lordy, he was an awful professor. And he had really bad body odor. And he wore bike shorts to class sometimes. Last thing I ever needed to know about my professor is what religion he is, if you get my meaning. eek
