mkay, life update, 11/12/05:
My room, while looking entirely like a battlefield, minus blood and spent shell casings, is slowly emptying of extra crap that i don't need in here. There's a steadily growing mound of boxes, ready to be put somewhere before i move out. I'll have to organise a shed this week.
Otherwise, things are all going well. I sign the lease for my new place in 6 sleeps, nice little three bedroom semi-detached place in a pretty crusty area. But its cheap
On the job front, it's all cruisy. I've got 40 hours a week as a trade assistant, earning (to me) a crapload of money, and the photography job is keeping some of my weekends busy, too.
All in all, things are still looking up, pretty far, really. I hope to get down to see all you adelaideans over christmas, but i don't know how i'm going to go for time.

The army rang on monday. I applied to be an apprentice electrician a year or so ago, and they knocked me back. They called again mid-year, and i knocked them back, saying i wanted to finish the course i was doing. When they called again monday, i knocked them back again. they stuffed me round for the better part of four years, so they can damn well wait until i'm ready. Which will probably start the whole cycle again
I'm thinking i might wait until i've got my trade, then think about it.

ANother update, 21/12/05:
Moving's done, just a few more bits to unpack. after the real estate agent finished rooting me round, it all went pretty smoothly, and i ended up with a way better place for only $5 per week more than the other. Took a little while for the phone to get connected, but that's all done now. I'm way closer to broke than i've been for oer a year, and i'm not liking it

Plans for life in general: Finish my apprenticeship, travel a bit. Might try and get a living out of taking pictures. Or become a foreign correspondant or something else thats cool.
Favorite Music Artists/Composers: Most medium/heavy rock/metal stuff (i don't get genres these days). Mid-school metallica, rammstein, system of a down, mad caddies. Pick the odd one out

Well, i've now got broadband
Unfortunately, it's a crappy 200mb plan, until next month. Got some cupboards and drawers and things now, so i can actually put stuff somewhere, like clothes and things. No more floorbased wardrobe Into the second week of my apprenticeship, 1/208th of the way through. i'll know how little i'm getting paid after tax soon, i think i should be on about $340 p/w before tax, but i'll see how it goes. not getting my hopes up too much, but 300+ after tax would be nice.

Just got back from hardly normal (aka Harvey Norman). I decided to utilise their 24 months interest free dealy thing, and got myself a camera. with some goodies. over two and a half thousand dollars later, and i'll soon have a black canon eos 350D (twin lens kit [ry, i know you said not to, but i'll get better lenses later]), canon 480ex speelite and an extreme 3 1gb sd card. The financing thing said that they'd need further review, so i'll have to see how it goes.
I must remember never to get drunk and/or stoned on a weeknight. It's NOT fun climbing a set of ladders three storeys up in the air on a 40 degree day wearing overalls when you're hung over. If you really want to give it a go, be my guest. but it sucks, let me tell you. Started feeling almost human by about lunchtime, and i could almost function by about 2pm. not the best of days, really.
Up for a weekend of taking photos and driving around lots, i think i'm whyalla news' only weekender now, so i should have as much work there as i want. probably more...
roll on the dollars, i'm gonna need every one of them...
