Hi guys,

I've been wandering round the site for a while now, but I only got round to registering today, cos I just got a move I've been trying for a while after reading one of the forums (3-beat weave w/ double staffs - it hurts a bit, but it just about works)

I've been spinning for a good few years now, but only seriously for the last 2 years or so... staffs only - I've got too much going on to play with more than one toy - although I sometimes juggle and do really bad poi.

The rest of the time I'm mostly playing with music - I'm doing a PhD about getting computers to jam, playing drums, writing wierd electronic music, doing soundtracks for shows or just chilling and having a listen. Recently I've been listening to a bit of jazz, some electronica, lots of dub, and come classical, but I listen to most things, really.

I'm living in edinburgh, which I'd recommend to anyone - my life's taken off since I moved here. I'm also getting involved with the Beltane celebrations up here, so maybe I'll see some of you on Calton hill this year...

Looking forward to meeting you guys!

happy spinning,
dave

Welcome to the madness, mo-seph.

Edinburgh is on my list of places to visit, and one of these days, I'll manage to make it.

I'm actually quite keen on hitting the Edinburgh Beltane celebrations, to be honest. I've heard nothing but great things regarding them.

Don't hesitate to stop by some of our intro threads to get to know us. We....don't mean to be scary, and really, most of it is all bark and no bite, except for a few, who will bite if you ask.

Or something like that...

Wow! Hello to everyone, what a lovely response...

Cheers for the hummus, very tasty, but maybe a little more garlic (I get scared of vampires when I drink electro-wine, dunno why)

And as for pink, well I used to think it was all girly and stuff, but now I quite like it. I've even got pink bits on my staff bag

And yup, the phd's real, although I'm just starting, so give me a couple of years, and you might hear something strange wink

and mo-seph, well, it's a bit of a story... I used to be in a band with two daves, so I was going to be "murray", cos of my surname, but the bass player had a stutter "muh... muh... muh...", so mo was just a lot kinder. One day, one of my whacked out mates decided that my jumper was really colourful, like josephs technicolour dreamcoat, and that's how mo-seph was born. Whew.

And if anyone's still hungry, try one of these lovely chocolate muffins, with a shot of flaming krupnik (I've just been off in poland, so now I've come back I'm making everyone drink honey liqueueuer while it's on fire. Only had two burns so far...)

Laters,
d

I've got no idea who she is... I'm pretty sure it's not me, cos I'm not a her, and I don't have dreads...

But then again if you can sit on your own head you're probably so flexible you don't need to worry about things like that wink

And alright to DuckKarma, yeah, life's pretty good! Do you come across to the 'burgh to spin? And my favourite quote about dogs:

And why? I feel like I should know who you are, but I can't figure it out. Aaaargh. Once again HoP breaks my poor wee heid. But if you want to take over a bit of the world, I'm sure we can come to an arrangement with the IBD...

Didn't see you last night Very good night, though!

(and of course, you missed the bluecat sliding his mighty instrument to the rhythm... see I can be cryptic too!)
