Cool to hear about all the stitches and tumors and such (see Narr's "war wounds" thread). Peoples been through some serious stuff. Might be fun to pick out a few good times tho. Can't have the low without the high after all...

What are the 5 best life events you've experienced so far?

Here's mine, no order:

1. LIving in New York City. The other day I was walking to work and noticed a white stretch limo parked outside the parole office. I love this cracked out town. Even at 0F.

2. rowing. My stint on a crew was short but hard core. A big sport for a little girl. I was so fit I felt like a superhero. No jar lid was safe....

3. Skydiving and scuba diving. (I'll list them both under "diving") It's incredible to be so completely out of your element. I had the good fortune of attempting these in the Swiss Alps and Great Barrier Reef. Wow and wow.

4. working as a stripper. (Note 4a: NOT working as a stripper.)

5. Finding my "calling." Which is absolutely makeup artistry. I even have dreams about it. And it's especially funny since I *very* rarely wear any.

The editted edition of the twin flame theory....

Actually it is amazing how many mythologies/legends have a similar theme...human spirit was one (flame, tree, flower. etc) and was split into two (by way of lightning, curse, etc) so we have our other half out there, our twin flame. It is the same concept as soul mate. Two halves of a whole meant to belong together.
Interestingly enough, many of these legends do not directly state that your twin will be a lover, so it could be a friend, a relative, etc. Someone you feel particularly tied to for no earthly reason.

Alright, my 5 thusfar, in no particular order....

1. Having my son be born alive.
2. Nearly dieing, and living to tell the tale
3. Meeting PWB
4. Meeting my biological family and realizing (with joy) I turned out nothing like them
5. The day I was adopted. That bag of M&M's sure looked huge! smile

actually that's not quite what a twin flame is, because the theory actually delineates between soul mates and twin flames. if you want more info, read the thread [Old link]

but yes, it doesn't say that a twin flame has to be a lover.

I said pretty much and gave examples from several mythos that covers a similar theme...silly! I figured if I covered a bunch of them one of them might ring a bell and help someone draw line, instead of getting into specifics ubbrollsmile:

I have to say this thread is hard because the more I thought about it there are two more I think should be on the list...
The day I had a man bleed to death on my lap
And the first time I took the stage...

Both are also profound.
Limiting it to five is so hard, since the top ones can change on any given day depending on my mood. That make sense?

Hmmm....this could be hard. These are the top five good life experiences for me:

1. Most definintely the day that I was accepted to go overseas for a year on exchange.

2. Living in Indonesia for one year all by my little lonesome at the age of 17.

3. Being accepted into university even though I never completed my final year of high school.

4. (I know this is going to sound sick) the day my grandfather finally passed away....he battled with Mesothelioma (cancer) for two years and he was in immense pain so even though I was really upset I was happy that he was out of pain.

5. The day I realised that I am not alone in the world and that there are people who really care.

1. Watching my grandmother pass away.

2. 13 day river trip on the Colorado River (Grand Canyon). It's my substitute for burning man until I'm able to go, life changing experience.

3. Spinning fire.

4. Realizing that just because you love someone and they love you, it doesn't mean you're right for each other.

5. Crying due to a stranger's news of their brain cancer. I had never cried due to emotional reasons ever before that.

Wow...I'm going through number 4 right now ^.^' I love her, she loves me, we've been dating steadily for 10 months, but we are not right for each other at all. I'm amazed it's kept up this long.

Anyways, probably time for a serious answer.

1) First kiss, dance, or sex (they are all more or less the same thing...)
2) First fight, tournament and win (once again, all the same thing)
3) Finding my 'Twin Flame' as pounce calls it...since then we've developed our own language in which we are fluent it, spared countless times and are going to a concert next month...
4) Realizing that I was in a depression and that I was worth more than I gave my self credit for, then getting my self out of a suicidal depression and 'back on track' to more or less where I am today...you'd think that this would be higher wouldn't ya?
5) Watching anime for the first time (if you know me, you'd understand...it's influenced me greatly)
