All our products are tax and duty-free, and you may have to pay tax, duty, and clearance fees within your own country.
Generally, goods shipped by Courier or Air Mail with Tracking are more likely to incur tax, vat, etc. The importer is ultimately responsible for paying any tax, duty, and clearance fee owed on an import.
How much tax, if any?
We can not tell you if you will pay tax, duty, and clearance fee as this is not up to us but the destination country's customs department.
Will this ever change?
Yes, we are registering to collect Taxes from the following Countries; All European Countries United Kingdom Australia New Zealand
We hope to have this in place very soon, so you know how much tax you will be charged; we will collect the Tax and send it to those registered countries. Preclearance of your goods through Customs will mean faster delivery.
At present we do not accept Bitcoins. There are a number of places that can buy bitcoins for USD or your own countries currency. You can then use that to purchase from HoP.
Goods are sent TAX and duty free.Except for the following...New Zealand customers are charged GST for all orders made.Goods being delivered to New Zealand are charged GST.Most goods being delivered to the UK are charged VAT. The shop will state 'inc VAT' or 'ex VAT' where appropriate. If we do not charge you TAX/Duty then you may have charges to pay depending on your country.Any charge that you need to pay to receive your order is a Customs tax and duty charge, it is not a shipping charge as you paid for shipping when you placed the order with us.In order to complete any orders you must agree to pay any Taxes or Duties. We are in no way associated with customs/tax duty charges that may occur as all our products are tax and duty free when they leave New Zealand. The tax/duty charges that you may have to pay are charges that your country decides the rules and regulations for along with your country receiving those charges, not us. Every country worldwide will have different rules and regulations associated with those charges when and if they do occur for bringing items into a country. That is why we supply so much info in regards to these issues, along with supplying links that explain and give you the customer full access to your countries customs departments. We have never seen any other website based companies who supply as much info in regards to custom/tax duty charges as we do, not to mention links to worldwide customs departments as well. We feel it is very important to supply all this information in the most informative way possible, hence the links that we supply on these topics. When you or anyone else orders any merchandise from outside their own country they may have to pay tax/duty charges as we are not in control of those issues along with it being a standard procedure worldwide where applicable.Below is the link explaining the charges that you were concerned about.See more
Please read all the following
Any small differences
Any slight difference you were charged will be due to the exchange rate changing from when your order was made until the time your order was set.
Exchange rates change all the time and are beyond our control. Sometimes they go up and sometimes down. It is a standard occurrence when you order from different countries as the exchange rate then has to be considered to give you the most accurate charge possible.
If the international exchange rate had changed the other way when your order was charged, it would have been slightly cheaper. We have the exchange rates automatically updated daily to give you, the customer, the most accurate charge that we possibly can. International exchange rates play a part in all transactions when ordering from outside your country.
Here is the link that we have on the website explaining how it works.
Larger differences
Please check the currency you chose to pay with against the currency you were charged. . Sometimes people order in Great British Pounds but think it is USD. Please check that you reading the correct amount on your bank statement. Sometimes they list New Zealand dollars NZD and not your currency. Use XE.com to convert the amount into your currency to check if it is correct.
If there is a slight difference, refer to the above.
Double charge
Very rarely will banks do a double charge. This can happen if the first charge is declined because of a network issue. Then another payment is tried again with success. Sometimes the banks will try the first charge again without advising us.
If you see a double charge on your statement, please contact us so we can advise the bank to process the charge of the duplication.
Extra charge
We have had several reports now about this kind of second charge. And we believe that some banks are adopting a new bill that adds a fee when an overseas purchase is made on a credit card even though the currency conversion charge is already built into the cost of the transaction, they are charging this extra fee.
In New Zealand, there was a big fuss recently about this practice as the banks did not disclose the fee and had to make full or partial refunds to people who had the fee to them! You may wish to discuss this matter with your bank to see if this is the situation with this charge.
If you did successfully make a payment to Paypal they would have sent you a confirmation email with a Receipt ID number or a Transaction ID number. If you received either of those numbers from them in a confirmation email can you forward that info to us so we can investigate further with the help of Paypal. If you haven't yet made the payment successfully using the Paypal payment system then login into your account, select your order and submit payment or change payment method. Then we will email you once we have received payment for your order.
You can change your payment method for an order by logging into your account, view your order and then click the 'change payment method' link. Follow the instructions to submit payment via the new method.
Once shipped, it can not be canceled, but goods can be returned for refunds.
We feel this gives users greater control and more of a caring approach to helping customers.
It is quite unfortunate that even though banks can charge your credit card immediately, they still take up to 9+ days to process a refund at the card holders end. This does not make sense and is out of our control.
Immediately the money is taken out of our bank account and sent back to the credit card services provider (eg, normally the customer's bank).
Most people have good banks and get the refund within a day.
But for some unknown reason, it can disappear to earn interest, maybe for the customer's bank or, in fact, VISA??
Then as much as 9+ days later, the customer gets it back into their account. So it can appear from the customer's bank statement that we have not done a refund. And we have kept the money and ripped them off.
Sadly, we get blamed for this when we do the refund immediately. We have increased awareness of the process. However, it can still appear like a scam for a few days until the money returns.
Always check for the refund on dates up to 10 days later; otherwise, it can be missed, and things like this can happen.
I hope that explains.
