What are people using if anything to paint their fire staves. I did a quick look on the hop forum and some google searching but didn't come up with anything. I am fairly new to making fire tools but have done a few staves but just left them polished. I just made one for myself to start learning some spinning and contact stuff and was thinking I might like to paint it. My girlfriend has a hop staff that is black and has a thick coating of whatever on it. Any suggestions?

You could use an aluminum staff and have it anodized.
