Greetings!
Okay, so I've got a question for all of you experienced fire fan folk.
I'm planning my first burn this weekend with my fans. I've been practicing with them for weeks and feel comfortable with their weight. Keep in mind, I am a belly dancer and not into throwing or spinning my fans (yet).
I will also be playing with my fire orb.
It appears that using lamp oil will be best for soaking the wicks.
My question is this: what is the best way to get the excess fuel off of the wicks for the fans and/or the orb?

The same for most fire tools that don't 'spin', a good grip and couple strong forceful arcs toward the ground. Think slashing the ground with a sword.
