Posted: My name is Julian Herbert Blake Sauer (Call me Nubbz), I'm from Texas City, Texas roughly forty miles southeast of Houston. At the age of 9 on July 17, 2004 a near-death experience changed my life. My mother was baking white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies. As a child I have always had strange hobbies, I had developed the tendency to do risky things without considering any kind of consequence. I loved climbing trees. I had my two older brothers with me, we loved climbing trees; I don't know why. I suggested we go outside and climb, and sure enough we did... Straight into a thicket of trees. We had no clue what would happen next. I made my way up carelessly to some weaker branches towards the top of the tree. Suddenly a branch under my foot made a loud crack. I instinctively reached out for some form of leverage to aid me in regaining my stability. I did indeed gain such leverage. Only... it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I had grabbed a power line, and I was being cooked from the inside out. I recall a distinct buzz, and the sight of what I believe to be my eyes rolling upward toward my pre-frontal cortex. I was actually killed from the shock, however I fell a good 35 feet onto my chest, which brought me back. I could not feel my hand, the flesh on most of my right leg was literally melted like stringy microwave cheese. I did not cry, I was in shock for the first time in my life. two days later I awoke with bandages thickly wrapped around my right hand, my dominant hand. My father told me they could make it better, but his words were only ever truly meant to bring comfort, neither of us knew for sure. The moment I realized I had lost a part of my physical being... I did cry, I cried out every drop of remorse I will ever have about the subject. I came to accept this image, in fact I embrace it every single day of my waking life, and I will continue to embrace life as long as I have it. This near death experience has administered such a significant reality check on me. Today I have gone out of my way to tell this tale that is only a minute detail of my story, but holds a lot of inspirational value if one would care enough to read and take these words to heart, or at least into consideration lol. About five months ago I first picked up a pair of poi, and even though I don't have a hand or wrist, I do still have about a quarter of my right forearm. I excessively practice spinning because I want to entertain people, improve, and have fun doing it. Plus it's a wonderful choice of exercise! I don't have the best set-up right now, I made a video just for Home of Poi and it's members to see. Please, if you have any questions just ask. I want you all to critique me, tell me how I look, and ask me what you need to know. Enjoy.

Posted: I have a split tongue(: Just like a lizard. I split it myself with fishing string and a scalpel. edit: Well I got my friend mike to give me a hand on tying the knots, because I can't even tie my shoes. Unless I took half my day doing it. But I did scalpel it when the gap of intact tongue in between my tongue ring hole and the strings path actually bound my tongue into two, mostly. Luckily the healed fistula in my tongue where my tongue ring once was had been stretched to roughly 6mm in diameter. The healed fistula doesn't try to heal itself by nature and therefore laid down a great foundation to prevent my tongue from trying to heal itself back together. It was very painful, but in my opinion it was worth it. EDITED_BY: Nubbz (1332903079)
