Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up): Grow up? I don't plan on doing that. My goal in life is to be happy and have no regrets about what I didn't do or try. Right now my passions involve body art and special fx (both as artist and model) so hopefully I can make it into a career and expand my skill set along the way.

Hi all! I'm Jessica. I'm a face & body painter and bodypaint model in NYC. I'm here because recently I was working on a music video and they had a guy there doing fire dancing/spinning/breathing, and a girl doing trapeze, and it was awesome. Now I have this itch to learn some new things...partially to increase marketability, partly because I think it would make for some amazing photos when combined with body art, and mostly because I think it's just awesome and I'd rather try new things than have a case of the shoulda coulda wouldas later. I signed up for beginner poi classes starting in March, and I'm thinking about learning some flag twirling and ribbon dancing (did flags in high school about a million years ago)...and would love to learn aerial silks. But I'm extremely interested in the fire spinning, fire breathing, etc. In fact, I think it would be amazing to get bodypainted like a dragon and incorporate a set of fire skills into that. Way in the future I assume, since I know it takes a lot of practice and work before you even usually start using real fire. But I don't mind some hard work! I can't wait to start learning, and am very open to any advice regarding materials (LED poi, fire poi, flags, ribbons, or anything else). Also willing to help out with advice anywhere I can, though as a newbie not sure how often that would come into play. Hope you all have an awesome weekend!!!
