Posted: So, I've been spinning for a while and recently started working with rope dart. I have yet to find ANYTHING as awesome as the cord for wraps and whatnot, but I am curious if anyone has done any work with fire. I know that it can melt, but I use a chain on the end of my rope anyway, I just wonder if the cord would be so thin it might melt quicker than rope. So, to summarize, has anyone done any work/play/testing with colecord and fire?

Posted: I've never tried it, but I have an LED poi with colecord and I would not want to use fire with it. It is a possibility that the chain may even get hot enough to melt it.
Posted: i've done fire with nylon ropes with out a problem and my friend uses like twine. i think if i have a good 10-12 in ball chain plus a couple swivel bearings there shouldn't be much of a problem.
hmm well, i think its experiment time... i'll go slow

Posted: Unless the chain gets hot enough to melt it, you should be ok. Just be aware that it melts very easily, so any flame at all on it is likely to be too much. Good luck though.
