Tiny firebug looking for wanderlust mischief

Hi hello!

My name's LittleCarp, and I come from the whimsy city of Portland, OR. I run with a circle of folks who are existing or burgeoning firebugs themselves, and I couldn't resist joining the fun. Or, rather, it was only a matter of time. Same same.

I'm 24, female, and work as a toddler daycare teacher by day but relish in impish behavior by night (when I'm not passed out sleeping). My favorite foods range from most Asian foods to Italian, American...plus I'm an omnivore. And so while these options seem standard I'm really up for eating just about anything.

I couldn't tell you the wing speed of an unladen swallow, but the toys (fire toys, I'm assuming) that I'm most attracted to are poi, the staff, fans, and the hula hoop. At some point I hope to be able to successfully perform with all of these. Latest idea is trying to make poi toys with fans on the end. I'll have to see how successful the engineering of said toys will be. But, a girl can dream.

Being a Portlander the typical hobbies are cycling, drinking, reading voraciously and looking for the next food cart to make my taste buds go "Wow!" But hobbies that seem to round me out just fine are consistently working on my art craftsmanship. Sculpture, drawing, hopefully painting at some point...and martial arts when I get the time and opportunity to practice it. Hand in hand with fire dancing? Um...yes.

I'm currently in the process of finishing my BFA and my books and movies rotate on the daily so we'd have to talk personally to get the specifics. But literature wise authors like Garth Nix, Orson Scott Card, Robert Jordan, Stephen Erickson are a few off the top of my head, to give you an idea. Film wise I range from cheesy kung fu flicks to fanstasy/sci-fi to horror to comedies, action...it all depends on the story.

TV Shows would be Dexter, Firefly, Dead Like Me, Weeds, Glee, Grey's Anatomy...I'm working on BSG and Star Trek for my next endeavors. Ooh! And Farscape. Gooood stuff.

Eventually when I become a grownup I'll be drawing/inking comics for a living. True story.

My favorite artists rotate depending on my mood...so it doesn't seem fair to just rattle off names because they might be my favorite today but I could very well despise them tomorrow. tongue2

Ice Cream: makes me sick now. Damn my lactose intolerant tendencies.
