Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella?* To be honest, I've only ever heard of Nutella, which I love, so yea...Nutella.

I love Nerd trilogies, too. Read Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds? or Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson?
Right. Don't be scared. Not all of us as crazy as I am.

Posted: Hello and welcome! I expect you'll be able to find lots of spinners in Seattle, I'm a little jealous. I have the jailhouse sock poi, too, but mine don't glow so I'm even a little more jealous. But I'm on the Nutella team, too, so I'll forgive you. What kind of classes do you take for 'visual aesthetics?' I'm very curious.
Posted: Hey all. I've yet to find any spinners in Seattle but if any of you have any idea as to how I can find/meet some I'd love to get in touch with them.
The technical name for the degree I'm getting is 'graphic design' but I've always thought that name had generally negative connotations (socially) so I try to explain it more how I see it. I'm almost done with the degree so I'm mostly working on my portfolio right now taking some coding classes and advanced design stuff. Working on advertising campaigns, non profits etc etc etc.
The glowing poi are just awesome...no show is boring. Thanks for the warm welcome guys!!! Its great finally being able to talk to fellow poi enthusiasts. Most people just...dont get it

We got spin jams in Seattle, no problem! Actually in the Summer it's hard to find a park or festival without a congregation of poi spinners, hoopers, acrobats, ropers, ravers, mummers, and/or general carnies... but in the Winter we gotta go indoors.
I teach a "Fundamentals of Fire Dancing" class on Tuesdays from 7-9pm at a studio in Sodo (Teatro de la Psychomachia ~ 1534 1st Ave S Seattle, Wa 98134) if you're interested in learning how to get started with FIRE opposed to just poi though we do cover basic beginner-intermediate poi moves. More info here: www.heartsinspyre.com
Then there's a fabulous Non-Fire spin jam every Saturday from 3-5pm on Capital Hill at Century Ballroom/Velocity Studios 1621 12th Avenue @ Pine put on by the Seattle Tech Spinners: (Facebook group) suggested donation $2-5 or cookies etc EDITED_BY: asraiya on fire (1293975160)
