Plus one cheapo LED poi ball equals ghetto rope dart!
Fun times. I have no idea what I'm doing but I've spent the last two days whipping the thing around me in the front yard. So far about all I can do is whip it between my legs and snap it out in a straight line, but hey. Had to share because this has been great fun! And I haven't taken my happy ass out yet, which I actually did today with my sock poi (tennis ball to the chin = OW ok done for now), and I don't feel like quite so much of an uncoordinated dip.

Eight feet is kind of short for a rope dart (unless you're very short). About twice your armspan is around the more usual length; some wrap combos may be tricky at 8'.

Ah, so that's not as far off for you as 8' would be on my behemoth frame (mine is about 13' since I'm 6'). Ain't rope dart swell? I would learn some kick shots next. They're a lot of fun.
