I know this sounds stupid, but I have tried searching for things and am just getting nothing back and it's really frustrating.
Search for similar threads (cateye)

to HoP Durbs 
maybe try searching in specific forums and searching for the terms in the header only rather than in header and body.

don't use the "Search" from the "Community" menue but the one that is below
for example in hte header now see the title
"Forums>>Social>>Help>>How do I search?

Dropdown --> Advanced search
When searching for "Hybrid" in "Technical" "Subject only" I get
