Hey-my name is Chloe' (pronounced klO-E). I am currently 16 with a b-day of March 5. Junior in High School. I live in South Dakota, USA. Favorite color is dark blue. Not many people around here doing poi of anykind except for a few. I started about 2 years ago but havent been doing much this past year because of some things. But after that was over I picked my glowsticks up and started again. I mostly do poi as a form of releasing stress and keeping fit but I love doing it in general. Thats about it I guess...

Ok-Ive been using glowsticks and shoestrings since I began and I have an interest in starting with poi balls. Do you know how much of a difference the chain/nylon and handles would be compared to the shoestrings? Im not really worried about the weight becuase I can get used to that fairly easily. Im just trying to get some input before I spend some money on a set.

I'd recommend knee high socks for practice, you'd need to adjust the length but they untangle pretty easily and you can adjust the weight fairly simply and you can use different kinds of weights if you think they're giving you bruises and that sort of thing. They're also ridiculously cheap and easy to make...

They have a little stretch in them to begin with, but if you use them daily that'll go away. I'd recommend a weight of about 150g to go in there... I use rice in balloons but you can use sand in balloons or whatever else you like, really...

Welcome to the site, do many people really pronounce your name incorrectly?

Haha-yeah. Most people murder my name a few times before they get it right. Its not the most common spelling I guess. And thanks for your input. =)

OK-I got a pair of fluffies and they are SO much fun! I love how they dont hardly hurt when I smack myself(an often occurance). I was surprised at the weight cuz I'm used to glowsticks but I really like how heavy they are-makes it alot easier learning new tricks.
