Better than going lenient on her - I'm thinking of the wider implication here. She's a role model for thousands of teenagers, and it'd send a bad message if she got off basically cheap.

Hilton's stay there cost taxpayers $1,109.78 a day, more than 10 times the cost of housing inmates in the general population.

I don't understand your problem with that kid anyway: she's a valley girl and tries to check off anything on the list of "what to do if you're rich and bored". I think she's doing the right thing. Look at her resume... It's on us, paying that much attention to her.

Okay, make the math: $ 1.110 (rounded) x 21 = 23.310 by 280 Million = ... and you want to tell me now that to you this act was not worth the fraction of a cent? As Birgit said: I'd be happy to donate 10 bucks to get her back in there...

We went to one of those Accord holiday things last night. They have a deal that you can book a week in advance for $50 a night at 5 star places. The way rentals are going here it would almost be worth it rather than pay rent!!

STOP THE PRESSES...

Paris Hilton is famous because:

1) She worked hard to become a movie star

2) She cured cancer, AIDS, and heart disease

3) She is an artistic genius

4) She's a rich spoiled girl who wanted to be famous and so she had her daddy pay to start a reality show about her and pay for her to be invited to every red carpet event and all she really wants is to be famous for no good reason except that she's rich.

Correct answer: (4)

Can everyone PLEASE stop paying attention to her? She's like any other attention-seeking spoiled child. She wants attention. If we all stop paying attention, she will eventually go away.

personaly i think her sentance was a joke, locked up in solitary with the gurds pandering to her needs, she gets let out early and the first thing she prolly thinks is "oooo i can get a book deal out of this telling my story of the harrowing and unsympathetic conditions endured spending 30 days in prison"

*i know she got out early wink

Ravehead, I heard someone say on the radio that most people only get those foot things and have to stay at home because of over-filled prisons and driving offences like hers being relatively harmless in comparison. So it would seem that she didn't get the easy treatment.

I wonder where she'll go away to if she doesn't get attention anymore. I bet she has enough money to fund research for a proper space mission and could set up a base on Mars with a camera signalling her simple life to earth.

Not really. There is stay deferring and transfers to other jailing facilities. It depends upon the individual situation what the judge will do.

In fact, this was part of the joke behind her own jailing. It had been rumored that Hilton would be released, Sheriff Joe Arpaio made the rather interesting offer to house Hilton at his own facility in Maricopa, Arizona. The joke being that Sheriff Arpaio is known as the "toughest sheriff in America" and notorious for his "Tent City" (google it!)

I like the way Paris highlights the tax payer cost of keeping people in prisons, which on average is something like $100, 000 per prisoner, per year.

I’ve got nothing against Paris. She’s worth $50 million in inheritance and she’s out there having a go.

She got a wake up call, and did time.

She found God!

Go Paris!

Meditation and "getting away from it all" in jail ain't a hard task and so is disliking the food. But the strip search certainly was something she won't forget in a long time.
