And Davison was the best, but McCoy had Ace who was the best assistant.

(oh and Peter Cushing was the best Doctor ever, but he doesn't really count because he was only in the films)

Nah, McCoy was the best doctor. He was the one when I was growing up. He had the best assistant (Ace) so we are in agreement about that. And he was the nicest and the coolest.

It was a day for screaming at inanimate objects.

What this calls for is a special mix of psychology and extreme violence...

I grew up with Tom Baker, so he's the best for me. Mind you living in Canada we were *years* behind in getting new episodes. And back then my favourite assistant was Adric. (hey I was a little girl, he was cute! )

And Daddy! They took my boot!

Tom Baker! Any hero who spontaneously offers jellybabies to everyone, even his enemies, is ok in my book.

Besides, I recall a rather scantily clad women wearing furs running around with him...

My vote goes to either Jon Pertwee or Tom Baker, they're the two I've seen the most of.

Unfortunately, I never really watched many when I was younger, mainly because Peter Davison was the Dr - I think he's probably the worst I've seen.

I have however, watched loads of re-runs on BBC2 fairly recently

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

I always loved Sylvester McCoy. but then, he was the doctor when i was growing up.

apparently, in dr who circles, he's the most hated!

i quite liked peter davison too.

Tom Baker. It was the scarf. How I wanted one.

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.

it was so scary when i was i kid. now i watch it and i see a large person jumping around in a wierd green monster costume making apes noises, while a man in remarkabley clashing colour overacts terribly.

kindof destroys the mystery it had as a kid doesnt it....
