No worries mate, I'd be glad to tell you anything you want to know.

As for the language issue, English is the most commonly used between different race groups, but there are 11 official languages. I myself am Afrikaans speaking (sounds alot like Flemish or Dutch)

I suppose I should be working, but this is my first week back at work after 3 weeks of holiday, so I'm really not in the mood.

My ancestors came from Cork in Ireland, his name was William Hendry Boucher and he was the first Boucher to settle in South Africa, but I guess my blood is still Irish

There are loads of little gatherings throughout the year where you can meet HOPpers, just watch the events and gatherings section, and I'm sure that there are more spinners in Ireland. You just need to find them.

There are a few of us that tend to go to a lot of the same gatherings, so you get to know others quite well, but only see each other a few times a year..it's exciting to watch peeps as they meet up again after a long time, they go mental (but in a good way) biggrin

Man, I would love to visit Ireland. It's just soooo expensive, with the SA rand being worth so little, but hopefully I'll make my millions soon and then I'd love to see Ireland.

Don't know exactly when or why they left, but I think it was in the 1800's. I would like to go to Cork and see it for myself. Since I found out about my Irish origins, I've become really interrested in Ireland and also been reading a bit about the Celtic influance.

Finding out I was of Irish origin did explain why I like Guinness and Killkenny

I know mate, but I swear the Guinness here and the Guinness over there taste different.

I was in the UK and the Guinness was way better than it is here. Don't know why.

Anyway, it's time for me to go home, I'll chat to you again tomorrow.

Yeah its a known fact. Even the guiness in the UK deosnt taste as good! There is two reason for this:

1: Once guiness has been brewed and put in a keg, it does not travel well, in other words, once it is in the keg and it has to travel from ireland to england its not gonna be as nice as it has been in the keg for ages. Obviously you will have your own guinnes breweries closer to u than ireland, but because ireland is soo small, it may only have to travel maximum a day before the lorry gets to the pub and gets out on tap or put in a cool room.

2: Now this is the key! In Ireland, and only Ireland in does this happen, The Guiness company have dedicated team of people who go around all the pubs in ireland, ALL OF THEM, once a week, to carry out such tasks as: cleanings the lines, making sure all the equipment is in perfect workin order, gas levels are correct and so on. Thus gettin a perfect pint evrytime in Ireland. Basically, when you walk into a pub in Ireland you know that at the very most it has been 6 days since the guiness man came aand sorted out the Guinness tap.

LOVE IT
