I wasn't watching 'Jam and Jerusalem' on BBC1 9.30 pm; but it was on in the background and some poi caught my attention.

It turned out to be a fairly substantial poi element, rather than just the 'raver in the background spinning something' than is the norm.

As the girl spinner was conversing, we got a few turns and an out-of-synch reverse butterfly, so it was obvious the actress could actually spin.

I'm pretty sure that the word 'poi' was also used during the conversation.

A bit later was a bit of a fire-poi performance in the church hall, stopped before it really began by one poi flying of and setting the wall on fire.

Looks like poi has finally hit the big-time smile

my mum told me about that programme this morning as we were walking mollydog.
She said "the programme was crap, it wasn't funny. It made the W.I seem like nutters and poi spinners look crap"
She also said "the poi spinner was rubbish, not like you"

ubblol well it made me chuckle, that programme did have an incredible cast list, and jennifer saunders has a way of writing that makes every character seem like a lovable nutter. I don't think it's going to adversely affect the world of poi, although there's probably a wide swathe of people who still wouldn't have got what was going on in that bit at all, regardless of it being on national telly... but your mum's nevertheless right though jo, you are not a rubbish poi spinner biggrin

how is it though i can go for 2 months without missing tv in the slightest and then find myself watching it solidly for 3 days...
