The Makabra Alternative Social Centre in Barcelona, Spain, famous for it´s cabaret and development of circus and performance arts, was shut down at 8am this morning. Over a hundred local and national police broke down the doors and evicted over 80 Makabra residents with no notice, contrary to Spanish law which requires a court order. There will be a protest in Jaume I square in Barcelona at 8pm local time.
If you know of the Makabra and of the good work they have done, please show your support by either showing up, spreading the word, or letting the world know!
