so after the sucess of "pogoella" would you like to hear what i typed to my (adoptive) mother after she asked me what the hell i was doing in Sandringham that I needed to ave breakfast there (it's about 20km from my place)

"some fairies decided to make a ring of orange flowers in my garden (no-one
knows why), and so i was dancing (no-one knows why...oh wait, yes they do!)
and i accidently danced my way into their fairy ring (no-one knows why). and
then the neighbours cried "this used to be a neat street!" so which i
interpretive danced "my house is me and i am it, my house is what i want to
be and it looks like all my dreams" before saying "oh [censored] i'm in the wrong
story"
and i danced until i collapsed, and in the morning i woke up in
sandringham(no-one knows why)! and as it turned out, alan had also been
dancing last night (and oh god, no-one knows why there!) and the fairies had
taken him to sandringham too! and then alan asked why he felt so hungry, and
i said its cos fairies take you into another time dimension so even tho only
a night has past in melbourne, we had probably been dancing for about a week
(cos boys dont know these things) so we should go and have breakfast
somewhere.
so we went to a cafe and had a yummy yummy massive breakfast and i paid for
it all on my parents credit card..."

bonus points if you can pick the children's book i am making reference to in this biggrin

i would have changed ***** to phallus, and claire to petey Petey

Rougie: but that's what I'm doing here

I thought I new just about every kids story there was.....I have been proven wrong!!!

It was indeed very cute tho, Rougie!!!

I was always into the original Grimms.....most people don't realize how very gruesome that they were....

'Backward peek, backward peek,
There's blood upon the shoe...
The shoe's too small and she behind
Is not the true bride for you.'

Will never forget the first time I read that! Sticks with me to this day!!! Grimms shaped my life!!! biggrin

Not to put a downer on everyone but, I feel very lucky to be alive at the moment...

We have had very severe storms move thru the state since late last night and have just moved out in the past hour...which is about 12 hours of storms....

I noticed this morning when I had to take my daughter to school that their was an old Oak tree that had to have been at least 100 years old was just completely twisted and the whole top is just GONE!!!...nowhere to be seen!!! This was less than a mile away from my house.

In the southern part of the state, we have 7 people dead from tornadoes and many more injured, lots of those children!!!

There have been about 30 families that now have no homes anymore....they are completely leveled. The whole south and eastern part of the state is in danger of falling trees because of the amount of rain we had in such a short period of time which has loosened their roots!!!

I am completely flabbergasted...I don't usually even turn the TV on and if I hadn't I most probably would not have known about any of this until I went out to pick my daughter back up from school again!!! No alerts on my computer...nothing!!! I'm almost afraid to go out and see what the damage is.

Hey, hun. It *is* all rather scary and at last count there are now *8* people dead.
The people who lost their homes are in a shelter that has been set up at a local middle school...the Red Cross is taking care of them from the time being, but the really horrible thing is that most of them were low income and had no insurance that would cover this kind of disaster. Thery're going to have to rely on the government (which is a f-up in my opinion) or the kindness of the community to help them start over again. Most lost everthing that they had.
I feel extremely lucky.....just got EXTREMELY heavy rain and that one downburst here....the real damage was about 100 miles south.

The thing is...it's kind of Mother Nature's way of house cleaning....

Nature has no prejudices or favourites...

The winds of change blow where they will...and we just have to learn to float along, I guess.

It's cruel, but it's life.....*knock wood!!!*

Yep...and we've had confirmation now that they're were at least two more touchdowns farther west from the one in Columbus Co.

Haven't really heard the final damage around the state.....been out and about and not had the TV back on.

Guess maybe that I should check, but it just scares the bejoobies out of me......I am terrified of tornadoes.....Is one of the few things in this world that I'm truly afraid of.
