This made me laugh when I heard about it.

Just like that.

Thankfully, I think there have only been about 6 in all of the defective batteries that have so far burst into flame.

And Sony have just lost their lawsuit over Dual-Shock so PS3 is going to be crap without that. Now they are losing loads of money because of the pay out to Dell and Apple. I think the thing to kill the electronic giant would be if Blu-Ray go arse up!

Me too, but I quite like the Sony Ericsson range and think of all the job losses as well.

Sony isn't going anywhere bcause of this. Not when they get $64 billion a year.

Are they actually paying out to Apple and Dell? The said at one point that it wasn't anything to do with them.

and yes, Sony are paying out lots and lots. I reckon they'll be ok though biggrin

Analyst Roger Kay at Endpoint Technologies has Sony's costs pegged somewhere between $200m and $300m, while Macquarie analyst David Gibson says Sony will shell out up to $260m. Those ranges didn't stop Reuters from claiming $430m and attributing it to no one.

I love the analogy the engineer used to downplay the defective batteries. The thing about impregnating women. biggrin

I have the advantage of having an old censored laptop! ubblol

I'd dearly love it if it got recalled and I got a new one!

Never going to happen though!

Mine's actually a whole Sony laptop, i'll let you know if the whole thing explodes... but i don't reckon on round of defective batteries is going to make a huge dent in Sony's profit since their production covers just about every type of electrical device in existance...

if it makes no sense that's because it's NOn-sense.
