Hi,

My name's Roz and I've just joined the Home Of Poi community. I've never been part of a forum before, so feels a little odd talking to myself right now...

Anyhow, apparently it's good manners to give the following details on myself, so here goes:

Name: Roz
Country: UK
Hometown: Brockley, South East London (not actually my home town but where I've lived for last 10 years)
DOB: 30th August 1979
Age: 26 (27 a week tomorrow!)
Sex: Girl

Occupation(s): Actress/ Web Editor for Greenwich-based website

Favorite Food(s): Hmmmm..., not sure - there's nothing I don't like though, apart from bananas which is a bit of shame cos they're so full of good stuff...

Favorite Color(s): Pink

Toys: Poi, cat, bicycle, camera, laptop (although mostly this feels like a big pain in the neck), sound system, sewing machine. Next new one will be a hoola-hoop.

Hobbies other than the obvious: Dancing, making music, watching bands, partying, yoga, writing, cycling, watching films & theatre.

Education: BA Hons Acting + various...

Favorite Book(s): Can't remember - I read all the time, but it's been a while since I actually finished a book. The last one I finished was The Way of Wyrd by Brian Bates. Would recommend.

Favorite Movie(s): A Fish Called Wanda/ Magnolia/ Breakfast at Tiffany's

Favorite TV show(s): Not really up for TV

Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) Keep dancing till I drop; Get more involved in my profession (acting) once I've found a way into it that suits me; Teach self-expression through dance; Travel as much of the world as possible; Continue with yoga and keep learning; Explore and experience everything I possibly can in my limited time in this particular life; Never stop loving life. Oh, yeah - and pay off my debts!!! - to be completely independent is more valuable to me than anything.

Favorite Music Artists/Composers: Got so many favourites I wouldn't know where to start. Afrocelt and Dreadzone Sound Systems definitely ring my bell every time though.

Favorite ice cream flavor(s): Raspberry sorbet

Well, that's possibly a little more than I needed to say but I guess you get the picture.

So is there anyone else out there round my neck of the woods?

Bye for now,

Roz smile

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Hi,

Thanks for replying! I'm not familiar with Sussex. Are there any spots you would recommend for poi spinning that are easy to get to from London? I'm always up for new places and new things so maybe I'll venture out there sometime.

Erm... What's this whole cheese obssession thing? Have I been missing something in my life???

Hmmmmm... ... I seem to be replying to myself... ... I think this forum business may take some getting used to. Fortunately, I haven't got anything really worth saying at the moment... But if someone can throw me a bone and tell me how you're meant to reply to someone if they've replied to you, that would go a long way towards reducing my idiocy complex right now... smile
