Four months of experiance spinning other types of poi.
Not so much because you will burn yourself, its very easy to spin without accidents, however its more to do with confidence and your own piece of mind. Plus you sort of need to know some moves while spinning, the funny thing about fire poi for people who are new to it is once you pick up fire poi you magicly forget allmost every single move you can do lol, so you end up standing there doing your 2/3 beat weave over and over and not doing anything else lol
Get abit more practice in with other sets first.
