Hi all ...



Just ordered my first poi and instructional DVD today! YAY!!



I'm co-owner of a Middle Eastern bellydance company, and we are trying to incorporate poi and fire spinning into the dance. If anyone has any helpful tips or advice, I'd LOVE to hear from you!!





Ok, ok ... here's my introduction:



Name: Nona or Namira Azar (bellydance name)



Location: Washington State, USA



Hometown: Puyallup (pronounced PEW AL UP)



DOB: Tax day ... too many years ago!!



Age: I don't know you well enough yet ...



Sex: yes please ok - female



Occupation(s): accounting clerk by day, Middle Eastern bellydancer by night ... and weekends ... and every other chance I get



Favorite Food(s): ethnic stuff ... Indian, Morrocan, Asian, etc.



Favorite Color(s): ORANGE and PURPLE!!!!



Toys: hmmm ... I could go SO MANY directions with this one ....



Hobbies other than the obvious: dancing, reading, dancing, target shooting, dancing, motorcycle riding, dancing, archery, dancing, camping, dancing, hiking ... did I mention DANCING??



Education: you could call it that. Some college.



Favorite Book(s): anything by Patricia Cornwell or Dean Koontz



Favorite Movie(s): right at this moment, probably Nothing to Lose



Favorite TV show(s): CSI, Scrubs, Extreme Home Makeover (when I have time for TV)



Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) A little bit of everything!! Really, I want to continue dancing, teaching, and performing as long as I can and if I make a bit of money along the way, then that's a BONUS!

Favorie ice cream flavor(s): pistacio almond



Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella? (please choose one...this is important as it is essentially this site's equivalent of stating your religion...we have religious wars, crusades, cathedrals to Nutella, all that.) Uh - gotta go with Nutella.

THANKS!!! That would be really helpful ... I know bellydancing & fire spinning (mostly fire fans, fire fingers, & poi) is already done on the east coast of the US, but here on the west coast it's practically unheard of!!

musashii is hosting them in seattle, should be 8th, or after fire drums like around 20th stay tuned to tribe; SF workshops are 6th w/ vatra, posted already on tribe and 7th with temple of poi; l.a. workshops are on 24th at the indra yoga studio, and more indras tba, probably will end up in san diego as well
