Hi all... I am a complete newbie to poi, fire twirling and anything/everything related. In fact, I'll only even see it in real life for the 1st time next Friday (making it down to the Moon Fest on north side of Brissie).
Anyway, this is me...
Name: Pat... but Pogo to those that know me well.
Location: Logan City, south of Brisbane, QLD, Oz.

DOB: 17/09/1969
Age: 36 and counting...

Occupation(s): Computer Programmer. Worked for myself from home for 2 1/2 years, but have recently had to get a "real" job.
Favorite Food(s): Hmmm... pretty much anything, really.
Favorite Color(s): Green
Toys: Acoustic guitar, Classical guitar, 3 electric guitars, 2 djembes.
Hobbies other than the obvious: Music, Reading, Keeping fit (hmmm, not so much of the keeping fit, actually)
Education: Did Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science and Pure Maths. Then Grad Dip Appl Computing... then started a research masters, but gave it away when life got in the way.
Favorite Book(s): Have to get back to you on that one... The Anarchist was the last book I read, quite liked it.
Favorite Movie(s): Lots... Fight Club, Snatch, Lock Stock..., Finding Nemo, Pulp Fiction, Pay It Forward...
Favorite TV show(s): Don't watch tv.
Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) I really... wish... I knew.
Favorite Music Artists/Composers: Lately... Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson, JBT, Blue King Brown, Donavon Frankeneiter, Rob Sawyer, The Waifs... blues/roots stuff.
Favorie ice cream flavor(s): Vanilla.
Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella? (please choose one...this is important as it is essentially this site's equivalent of stating your religion...we have religious wars, crusades, cathedrals to Nutella, all that.)

Good Day? That's debateable. I've been working on other peoples problems instead preping for an implementation that his happening in two days time. But if it wasn't for working on other peoples problems I would be BORED stiff, so I shouldn't really complain.

Oh, yes...he's fine...just very busy and can't post at all from work anymore...so he just doesn't get to come around often...but I'm sure he'll be back to make a grande return soon enough!!!
How about we start with this and then he might not mind whatever else we do in here!?!?!

Yep...and before I lose that control, I think I'll completely change the subject...to like...
The fact that everything has been blooming here and is gorgeous...the fruit trees...the dogwoods...the azaleas...strawberry crops are almost ready...and now the temps are gonna drop again and we're gonna be down to about 28 degrees by Saturday night (that's below 0 for those of you on the Celsius scale)...gonna zap everything that's not protected...
...and it's kind of impossible to cover everything in your yard up unless you have lots of time and lots of blankets...and blooming fruit trees are really hard to cover...*sigh*...North Carolina and it's fickle weather...

Yep...especially the strawberries and the peaches...
The local farmers are all on alert...but with the next few nights of freeze warnings...and especially Saturday night when we're expecting temps to be the coldest...is gonna be really hard to save this years crops...

Well it shouldn't affect me that much because I buy Oregon strawberries and peaches ... OK so I will have to wait a while to get them, but in my opinion the are the BEST!

Well...seeing as how one of the largest strawberry farms around here is owned by my some of my cousins...and they also have homemade strawberry ice cream at their farm...then I think I'll just stay faithful to the locals...
