for people that say they dont exist what do they think makes them who they are and there individuality.I dont think anyone will have the full answers until its there time but i am definatly a strong believer to psyrush i would liek to ask you a question if reincarnation is unlikely what is your beliefs on where our souls go ? just curious
peace

Scientists would say that our DNA gives us our individuality. A species with a wide range of DNA will give people with characteristics that will help them survive in a range of environments. There are literally millions of different combinations of mothers/fathers and eggs/sperm possible which will result in an entirely new DNA fingerprint. I usually attribute basic consciousness itself to spirituality, not my personality (but you never know).

When I was saying reincarnation was unlikely, I was saying it was unlikely for the OBEr given the choice, assuming that we're free (or at least some part of us is free) to decide if we want to re-incarnate. Where else would we go? I don't know, heaven? A state of heavenly bliss? Or maybe our illusion of separateness disintergrates and the question "where do I go after I die" no longer applies because there is no I.

Please read my post. It's pretty obvious that I'm not a materialist.

What also must be considered is that maybe as far as a soul or spirit moving on is concerned, there may be a more large conciousness to be considered. Is the planet we occupy a collection of spirits, past, present and future? Therefore do we not pass on to a greater collective entity? In this case i would be lead to believe re-incarnation is possible, but wether you are re-incarnated with other spirits to form a new conciousness or not is anyones guess. I think to be fair and realistic, you must consider any and all possibilities and theories because any or none of them could be true...

I think that believing is important, for if you carry the memory of someone you have lost, then their soul does exist and you are carrying that connection by acknowledging it...

I believe when we die are soul lives on forever. We do not stay on earth and we can't have contact with others on this earth. We are in Heaven or Hell. Its not the most comforting truth, but it does make you cherish life more. I'll pray that you will have peace as your go through this tough time. I know what its like to loose a loved one.

i think it is like string theory, they can cross over and "help"...if they had no interaction with us then why would the Church tell us to pray to a saint for extra prayer umph. if saints were just souls with no more interaction with us why would they bother giving saints specialties, like Anthony with lost stuff and Mary for mothers, and everything else they assigned to her

I'm naturally sceptical towards talk of the 'spirit world' because what you can see, hear and touch is already magical enough.

Having lost a close personal friend myself, I know that they live on in your heart anyway, so there's no need for religion or mysticism. It detracts from the magnitude of your loss, and sometimes offers false hope.

If the loss is hurting, try and remember what difference they made to your life. Recall happy memories and the 'good bits' and feel lucky you got to share those times.. that way you can be your own medium :-)

im always thinking of the good times we shared and my sister and i always look at photos and talk and then there are times where we know just not to talk about him because its a hard time and we could be strong if we where talking about him days vary alot up and downs but we believe at anytime we cant connect with him

there are particles that in our dimension and out of it at the same time or one or the other...at some time they belong more in one dimension and then they cross over sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly into another.
