Thanks Dromepixie for letting me know the situation with regard to Kensington Market.
One of my favourite things about London are the fantastic markets. So why on earth are people trying to move the wonderful markets out of London into suburbia to make way for more offices and flats for the urban professionals
There are proposals to move Billingsgate market as it is taking up prime space near Canary Wharf.
Talks of an expansion of Covent Garden Market in Vauxhall. A few other markets are at risk too as they are taking up valuable space.
A lease was recently not renewed on some old tobacconist that had been around for around a century. Probably to make way for another Starbucks.
Whats next? Portobello Market in Southall and Camden Market in Chelmsford?????
