Hi all
I am trying to generate large xls file which is near around 65MB of size form sql server.
I have run java programme with option -Xms512m -Xmx1024m. It refuse responding after rendering 30000 records.
I belive that it create Inmemory tree of object so jvm stop responding. is there any possibility or using OPI event library for creating the excel work Book that use less memory.

thanx for all your help

I think you should find that if you change the export type to DBVII or an MS Access Table then you should have no problem with this. Excel often has trouble dealing with large amounts of data. I usually try to keep Excel files below 10MB before trying a different format.

Preferably if your handling that much data is it possible for you to output the results to another SQL table and read the data via an ASP web page on your intranet?

Drop me a PM if you have any questions.

yeah, good advice (although you should use PHP not ASP :P )

what are you doing it for? having that sort of data in excel isn't a good idea anyway.

as for the problem, can i have more info about the computer you're using? hardware and software. Also, is there anything stopping you from using excel to import it direct? it can mport from most things i think. Or just dump the mssql tables in to a CVS file?

What JRE are you running?
