I think it depends exactly what they are trying to do. SAS are the best overall in my opinion, though I'm sure most Amercian's would claim Delta Force are better, even though there is no such thing.

I live in a world of infinite possibilities.

hehe Delta Force, is that even real? haha

In a combined exercise the Marines Seals and Army Rangers were put against eachother in a sort of capture the flag style game. To make a long story short the Marines won in record time.

Special forces dont win a war. They play a huge role but they dont win it.

Delta Force is real. - thought you would have known that Ray.

I heard a story once that the Aussie SAS are tough as they come. Something about the enemy choosing to face large group of US Marines or something in Vietnam over a group of Aussies. Typical war stories.

According to this link the Aust. SAS train with Delta and British SAS as well as others.

Since each of the forces are designed for different tasks, I don't think comparisons can be really made.

Edit:
Speaking of war stories, after my Grandpa (we all call him Sid) landed on Sword beach in Normandy in 1945, one of his fellow soldiers asked what he was going to do. Sid replied that he was going to have a cup of tea. The other fellow said "What about the Germans?", to which Sid replied "Let them get their own tea." Sums my Sid up right there.

Sometimes my SAS is my favourite, but they always gimme clipping problems in cs_backalley. The Seal Team is good for cover i guess, but the real fun comes when you get to the Phoenix Konnection or leet krew and camp on cs_militia. The german GSG9 have funny helmet camo, but they still pack that wacky Arctic Warefare Magnum .50.

Silly campers! it was just all lag!

SBS all the way! i have a mate who's in the SBS. And anouther who want to go to the SAS.
But SBS are so much better than the SAS, they are more highly trained.

But for intelligent services, i say the MI5 and MI6. They are so discrete and you hardly hear a word about them compared with other intelligent agencys.

You can't compare SAS to SBS. They're different units for different jobs.

It's like comparing Navy Seals with Airforce Combat Control.

SBS are just slightly more classified and haven't been set up as long as the SAS.

Everyone is good at what they do. Seals, SAS, Spetznaz, Foreign Legion. They're all extremely hard soldiers and marines. They get the job done when necessary and get it done well.

I only know of 2 SAS screw ups in the 50 years since the regiment was started.

Plus one Delta Force mess up. Spetnaz screw up quite a bit but then they're not strictly soldiers as we would understand the term so they can be a little undisciplined sometimes.

the ones I'm really scared of/in awe of are this country's SO19.

I try not to upset them. I think they might leave me alone that way

Awww, you're all wrong.

All you need to do is figure out how to get James Bond and Jet Li on the same side. Then we could do away with the military all together.

This way the only possible threat is Jackie Chan, or possibly a Gidzilla/Mothra joint tactical strike..............

I have thee inconsistancys to point out in that photo. 1, boots unbloused. Trousers ,in the Army, are either tucked into the boot peg leg style or they are bloused using elastic bands. In that only one had his boots bloused, the guy on the far right.

2, Soldiers roll their sleeves in a maner that they can fold over the last role and have green side out. Marines and Sailors are the only ones that role our sleeves white out.

3, The American Flag on their uniforms is pretty bright in comparison to their dirty cammies.

Lastly unless someone went up and asked the guys what they were, there is no telling. You can see both the right and left shoulders, with most American special forces there is a "tag", or patch, on thier shoulders.

As far as weather or not I knew there even was a Delta Force, I am not in the Army. Frankly I could care less what they did.

As far as I know the US, Au and UK special forces are all a bunch of sissies!

French Foreign Legion is where it's at, and then a second place goes to the South African Reccies.

Well, scuse me Emanator, but there's no need for offensive name calling. K. If it's your reply waz meant to be humorous, then try using an a emoticon

I would suggest that all elite forces would be on par, each with their own specialisation's. And for wot it’s worth, you reply here, seem to contradict your reply in the Iraq thread. Nuff said.

Now Conan, there waz a warrior. And, I ain't ever seen anyone go up against a ninja and live, except for the Destroyer.
