Righto, cannot be bothered to do a search. wink :o

So, I enjoy passing patterns, and I'd class myself a beginner. I've been practicing with balls and rings (noone I know around here can juggle clubs rolleyes), and the person on the other end of my passing always seems to become bored, or frustrated with their dropping, or something, so they always go do something else (such as poi, yuk). I only learnt how to pass at Leeds, where I passed with some guy I met at Chocfest, he taught me 4count, 2 count, and 7 club 2 count. I also passed with Hexagonic, with his fat clubs, which was cool although I couldn't understand the timings when he threw a double! (I do now) The guy who was teaching me seemed to become bored with it pretty quickly too - so he went off to practice 6 clubs, and other horrendously hard tricks with several clubs. eek

I don't know whether it's me being a [censored] passer, or just that everybody else hates passing, and I can tell you it's annoying when nobody wants to do practice such a cool juggling style. frown

[/rant]

Yea, that was more of a rant than anything else, so...

Who can pass clubs? wink And how many!??

i don't particularly like passing clubs but i have passed 7 on doubles and qualified 7 on singles (which possibly only worked because of the skill of my passing partner).

i am interested in low numbers passing (takeout patterns) but only recently liked the look of it and haven't found anyone to try it out with yet.

i also like the look of quite a few of the madison's patterns with weird weaves and such but again, i think you either have to be very good already or have regular passing partners to juggle with.

this new dvd is the first club passing that has ever really sparked my interest: vnaygs

pre - vova is one half of vnaygs.

vova and olga don't juggle together any more - vova's new passing partner is dave nager and they will be competing in the wjf together this year.

i know v&o hold the world record for club passing and are possibly the most solid duo i've seen on video but i'm far more interested in the type of tricks dave and vova are putting out there i.e. ultimates with spin variations, lovely body throw combinations and putting pirouettes to great use (using them as transitions between patterns).

I noticed you posted that video of that continuous video - TakeItOut. Surely https://www.jugglingdb.com/videos/index.php?uid=S3R804-7R1471360R-2
is much more fun looking. smile

yeah i've seen that video i think - three guys, mainly filmed in a gym, two of them do 6c 4-count and the other steals and throws back into their pattern?

its cool but it doesn't float my boat as much as ultimates patterns for 2 people (which is what takeitout and vnaygs both focus on).

mmmm . . . . . club passing biggrin

I love it. I have had loads of fun messing about with 6c 3count patterns. my favourite is to just throw whatever you like and see if your partner can work out whats going on. great excercise!

also started working on putting triples into 7c 2count (doubles) and doubles with 7c 2count (singles).

AND my best achievement with club passing recently was running 8c 2count (doubles).

Biggest problem: finding someone good enough to practice with!

I had the great pleasure of watching olga and vova practicing at ejc a couple of yrs ago! silly silly people wink

I love passing, im better at passing than straight juggling.

my best advice on finding a passing partner is find a beutifull and talented member of the the opposite sex, and train them. (or the same sex if thats your bag)

I started mine off a year ago, and now in some patterns shes better than me...

we have worked our way up to ultimates and 7c stuff real fast and theres always someone to pass with and we can still have fun when we are boored of passing (like that happens a lot!).

frustration is the biggest kiler, you have to work together and stay relaxed, and thgere wil be times when lots of drops happen, but when you get a pattern to stay in the air between you, the shared achivement is really wonderfull. someone else saw you do it!

passpasspasspass.

currently we are working on, tomahawk ultimates. :P

no, tomahawks are thrown near head height over to other person. Chops are [really difficult to explain] when you bring the club over the club you've just thrown and into the centre of the body. No, just read the inside of the brackets, or ask someone else how to explain it rolleyes

I juggle quite a lot, and passing is definitely one of my favorite things. I've never done much passing with balls or rings myself, but I'm working on eight in double spins with clubs and on back-to-back passing, which I admit is a TON of fun. If you're just learning or something, I would recommend trying different beats, or ambidextrous patterns (PPS or PSP), they can be quite a lot of fun. If you're looking for ideas to expand upon, try the passing database... https://www.passingdb.com
. Hope that that'll help you out!
