Just got back from Falmouth now slaving away at work - Surprisingly in fact as I got an irate phonecall from my boss on Thursday asking me why I wasn't in work.
Me: I've booked today and tomorrow off
Boss: No you didn't.
Me: Yes I did!
Boss: No you didn't
Me: Erm... Hmmm......
Boss:....
Me: Hmmm
Boss:It's not in my diary or on your holiday sheet.
Me: Oh dear I remember asking whether those dates were availble but forgot to actually book them off.
Boss: Come back into work tomorrow and we'll sort it out...
Me: I'm in Cornwall.
Boss: Oh... I think we have a problem then...
Was ready for a showdown, firing/much needed push into doing something different with my life. When all I got was just taking those days off a week i booked off in November.
I have somewhat relieved but also a bit disappointed in that our company's hiring and discliplinary policies are surprisingly lax.
