So i'm almost wanting some fire poi and I wanted some monkey fist ones . But then i looked at the prices and got a nasty shock!
Sooooo expensive. I looked about a bit and saw a few articles about how to make them and I think I want to have a go at that. Most of the componants you need are on the HOP Shop, but not the wooded balls to go in the middle. Does anyone know where you can get these from? Even good old ebay let me down

i seriously doubt that wine corks will survive fire poi\drilling into it for putting the eyebolt in... search google for wooden balls... i found some... cant remember the site though...

my uni room had weird little wooden balls, i think they were a deoderising thing. could be another avenue...

au naturale sell them, theres a thread kicking about in the help section about contact balls that mention the shop deatails somewhere, sorry I'm being lazy today!

I get mine from Michaels , in America.
They have every size from 1/4" to 2 1/2" diameter, and cost about $3 or 4 for 10.
Most craft stores should carry something similar.
Lets steal a spaceship and head for the sun, and shoot the stars with a lemonade ray gun.

wooden balls? really? I didn't know that they were used, I was making monkey fists without balls, is it to make them heavier?

I first used aluminum cylinders for my monkeyfist core, but recently I switched to a double ended eye-bolt design, with a smaller mf knot of wick as the core for the larger monkeyfist. The added wick gives me added burn time, and the weight is about the same (maybe a tad lighter).
Yellow and blue make green.
