I'm not much in the way of footy fans but have 'supported' Liverpool since I can remember (probably because I'm a 70's and 80's child) but last night was such a heart stopper!

I was ready to turn it in at half time because I thought that there's no way we could pull it back from 3-0!

Then, when the teams emerged from tunnel after half time, by some miracle, we did!

Then there was the extra-time........

Penalties! I can't 'do' penalties. My heart was in my mouth helping itself to my Jack and Coke for the duration.

As for the celebrations, it was like we'd won a war or the World Cup or something smile

You didn't do anything. You sat on your bum drinking beer most prolly wink tongue

My taxi driver yeterday seemed very miffed that I didn't support Liverpool, and even more miffed that I was going to watched the footall at all. silly men wink

I'll have you know I did my bit for my team last night - I am Champion drinker, I played a good game and should have won 'Man of the Pub' with my performance. Although, there was another dude who drank almost as good as I did but his sliding tackle of a fellow team mate on his way to the toilet cost him the trophy ubbloco

It was a good match. My boyfriend was at work, so I had to give him a running commentary over the phone!

Indeed, it was an excellent match smile

The liverpool penatlity, IMHO, shoudlnt have been given. Gerrard dived.

But I dont understand the wole, win it 5 times, keep the trophy thing. Do they just get a brand new trophy made up that looks exactly the same, or they rename the champions league?

Liverpool penalty - Yes Gerrard dived, he wasn't tripped, bubt correct me of i'm wrong, he was pushed and pulled a bit. In fact, ALL the milan team were tactical tackling and shirt pulling. Thats unsportsmanlike IMHO.

Great goal from Smicer tho...

And all credit to Dudek, even though on the first penalty he was about 5 feet off his line...

ditto Firepoise - 6 Nations, much better.

It's the old quote: "Football is a game for gentlemen, played by thugs. Rugby is a game for thugs, played by gentlemen"

Dont know who said it... Any way, North End for the Premiership!

Which ever way the goals were score the newspaper the next day said Liverpool won. Game over.

"You will never walk alone" so even if did not play the game or were watching the game drinking beer from the sofa. We still won.

Tri Nations is even better
