Are there any other pyro types living in sleepy 'ol Cambridge these days?
Whats there to do in terms of fire spinning? Anyone want to meet up sometime and find out?

I'm not in cambs, but there are a few of us in Norfolk if you're interested. We meet on a Monday night and we're thinking about doing a fire night sometime soon.

i'll be in cambridge from the start of may, and i'd love to spin with whoever i can find. there are rumours of a regular meet (perhaps not fire) every tuesday i think, but i can't find any up to date info. any ideas?
oh, and it would be my first burn...

I spend the term time in Cambridge, and I'd be keen on any fire meetings then! Me and my friend did some fire staving on Castle Hill once, it's fun spinning fire on the highest point in Cambridge.

to try to clear up the mystery:
there is a group of people who meet each tuesday night to spin fire on Jesus green (mostly during term time, but i think some folk live in town, so perhaps outside term as well). I searched for them long and hard and eventually found them, and they seem lovely. there are spinners and staffers and fire jugglers and all sorts.
The juggling society meet at some point in the week during term time, and they have a website which shouldn't be too hard to google, but i've not met them. I'm sure they're all lovely too.
Myself, I'm at uni here, and will be here over the next month, so give me a shout and we'll spin some stuff. Mostly i like glowy things and things in socks, but if anyone can let me know where to find any paraffin in this town, i do have some fire poi, and am happy to play with whoever's around.
Soon i will get organised and arrange a proper big meet periodically, to rival the one at Spitz. but that won't be until i figure out how to organise my life.

I've been to CUJA a few times, mostly ball jugglers though, lacking pois and more importantly staves.
I tried looking for the Jesus Green bounch once, I must've got the place wrong because I can't really find them...

The Jesus Green meet used to be near the bandstand, near the toilets and the hut that sells ice cream, over the bridge next to the zebra crossing. I'll find out if it's still there tomorrow night.
I've been to the Parker's Piece sunday meet, and yeah, they were all lovely people with more juggling but a few doing poi and stuff.
i'll try and drag down a few extra people on tuesday, and I should be meeting Vampyricacid this evening if anyone else is about and up for it PM me your mob and I'll give you a call. if not, I'll see you on Tuesday I hope!

hi another student back in saffron walden not far from cambridge. Ive been organising and going to the nottingham meet on forest fields for a while which has been good but alas term time has ended and im back cambridge missing the social gatherings of a fire night. my number is 07970460507 so ring me and i will try and meet up evening times and maybe i might bring some more people from town but they are all quite lazy :P:D:D:D

yeah I think so. I think an afternoon meet needs to be made up though as it's always crap weather in the afternoon. If anyone is up for making another meet on the saturday let me know. I think it would be cool to go somewhere like grantchester meadows, where we could go and make a day of it, have a BBQ in the afternoon, muck about all day then spin fire in the evening. All this jesus green stuff seems a bit sketchy at the moment. If there was a longer meet on the weekend it might be easier for people to make it....

I'll be at Cambridge Uni from the 24th to the 29th July. Unfortunatly i think all my time will be used up by people making me do clever things such as maths and theology and archeology and engineering and more..
I won't find out until I get there if I get any free time, I would ask for someones mobile number, but I think it'd be too late to arrange anything by the time i get there...
