*grins* you should make your own avatars - more fun and an excellent way to waste time on photoshop :P then again this one is a cheat as the main image is from a manga i like but nm :P

I am trying to post an avatar I've done, but It won't upload. it says it has to be less than 80x80 pixels, but other people have icons that are clearly larger than that... I did shrink in image to that size, but now it says it has to be under 7000 bytes... what gives?
What exactly do I have to light on fire to get you to notice me?

well, it has to be under 700 bytes in file size, and it's dimensions have to be 80x80 and no bigger. try using photoshop or another graphics program to shrink down the file size

if u go to paint then just use the strech/squew option to make it small then resave it it should work fine

OK, that didnt' work either... I put the image to 80x80, I even lowered the quality of the image to 0, and I still cant' get it below 7k. it's gonna make me crazy...

OK, I finally got mine working... for some reason photoshop was saving my pic as an insanely large file, finally figured out how to get that taken care of... now I just gotta get the pic of me and the nebula and the dagger shrunk down... but I gotta go home for that... the image is on my home laptop.
And yeah, I love ravehead's avatar...

Had to try a couple of times to get mine to work, several different file formats and picture sizes, but got it eventually.

I found a picture i like and shrunk it down to the right size, but its the wrong file type.
What can i do?
(p.s. i used paint to srink it)

Boo_Bunny do you have any other picture programs like paintshop or photoshop? If you have open the picture in them and then go to 'FILE' scroll down to the 'SAVE AS' a box should apper that you can rename the picture and save it in a variety of file styles. Pick gif or jpeg for avatars. You could try that in paint too...... it might let you save as a jpeg. If you don't have another picture program and paint won't let you save it as a jpeg you can mail it to me and I will do it for you. PM me if you need an email addy.
