Hi There,

I'm another Newbie. I have just moved to Clapham in London, I saw some people playing on the common a while ago and I'm trying to track them down so I can play too! I haven't had my poi very long, my cousin got me and my boyfriend into it last summer.

I also like walking (on the common and seeing poi spinners!), photography, ramdom art projects and sewing stuff together as the mood takes me, sanding stuff with my new mouse sander that my dad got me for a house warming pressent and reading odd books. One of my other favorite things to do is sit in a cafe or bar and people spot... my current favorite game is spot the adulterous couple.

Hopefully there are some nice people who would like to give me some lessons in my area, i will exchange lessons for cakes.

SCRUBSerm....can you smell parafin or is it me?

Either, or both i'm sure you could do both at the same time.... I'm recon the common would be quite a good place for both!

More about me...

...I'm a trainee traffic engineer working for TfL, which sounds really boring but is actually quite interesting. I want a dog but we can't have on in our flat, and it's not fair to leave it on it's own all day while we are both at work. I love reading books that are a bit different like "the wind up bird chronicles". I live with my boyfriend, we have been together 4 years and met at uni in Exeter. We moved to London about 18 months ago from Cornwall and it's cold up here! It's not natural - I'm sure i shouldn't still need a coat at the moment! I have been surprised by the sheer amount of beige people in Clapham since I moved... I'm sure there must be colourful people round here somewhere... Oh thats right they are all indoors cause it's too cold to go out and play... I hate winter! Grrrr! I love going on holiday and try to do it all the time, even if it's just for a weekend. At the moment I am going to Sweden a lot to see my Bro. I can't think of anything else to write at the moment. Feel free to ask though smile

Hi Josie-Posie! What's your opinion on penguins?

Well Birgit they are quite cool, and I saw a very cute grumpy penguim in Goteborg when i was there a while back. None of the other penguins seemed to want to talk to him. All together now - awwwwww! frown

I have been thinking a lot about penguins the last 24 hours and have decided they are nowhere near as cool as platapus's or should hat be plataps' or platupi... well you get the idea anyway. Did you know a male platupus has stinggers on it's elbows which can kill a human? And you though they were just wierd - nope wierd and dangerous! Better hope you don't run into a cranky one! or this might be you ---> angel!

Hullo and welcome to HoP.

It's platypi, and it's also the only mammal which lays eggs.

Sorry about that, can't help it, seems to be a teacher thing. Anyway, platypi are very cool, and possibly one of the oddest land creatures I've ever heard of. Although some of those WEIRD deep sea things are probably odder. Or the hand fish.

Anyway. Hello, welcome and hope you find some of those bods from the common soon.

Hello wave

Do you like the colour pink? ubbangel

Just wait for the weather to warm and people are in Clapham every Sunday to spin.

Although normally most people are flakey and so only 5 or so turn up at any given time. (normally i'm one of the 5 )
