Not to start a fight vaporloc but I think I might disagree. Only because I don't actually think that glowsticking came from poi. I think that the recent resurgance of glowsticks truely came from the candyraver society. Then someone put them on laces. Then someone realized that it linked back to poi and fire.

I could be wrong. Obviously poi came first but I think that glowsticking/liquid came about independantly and therefore, perhaps, deserves it's own identity.

One of the few times I'm just talkin' without ANY real facts to back me up...

To refer to the words of my longtime idol Easy-E:

Yes, let's go.

come on, peeps, it would be easy to have a judged competition with the usual approach to all sports, all arts, all skills: required moves, speed and artistry and technical, etc.

sorry, i don't know of any around edmonton. in fact, this might be a great way to get more peeps to try it out here in socal, thanx for the idea.

molten cheers,

tiamat, if you're up to starting a competition yourself, you might flush out spinners around you, if you put up a coupla flyers or something, let em have one of your contact addys or phone, how about at local skateshops, ravestores, all the places people might do it? (frats of course for bacardi 151 breathers) i've found very very few fireplayers in any area tend to sign up for HoP even when ya encourage them, not sure why, maybe though we're all friendly and have the best free lessons, it's too intimidating, especially for young cats?

for us in our area, i see newbies and existing spinners as a matter of developing them, community-wise, so when they do join HoP it's like a deepened step i see in them. . . with all respect (though not so personally felt by me) for those who develop in their spinning while never choosing to join us here.

molten cheers,

~ FireMike
