So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

My monopod head arrived today, and got it at the post office at 6.15am!! biggrin

Now for the argh news. I got a slip in the mail saying my lens had arrived too. Go to Brisbane Airport- Australia Post customs to collect it. Ok.. I'm halfway to class, I decide to skip it to get the lens. It costs heaps to get to the airport btw, even by train. And it's not in the airport, it's at some distant building along the highway..

Fill out a difficult to fill out form, and then she asks for the invoice- which I don't have! frown!! She says she can't release the parcel. She says maybe there's an invoice inside.. I open it hopefully.. get to touch my baby. Then it's snatched back and she says, sorry we can't release it without an invoice.

GAH. eek

Anyway, while she disappears off somewhere, a guy behind me says 'nice lens'. And we have some small talk.. he's there to collect speakers.

Half out of the office, I decide to ask whether he's driving back into the city, otherwise $11 by train (it cost me $13 to get there too) or $30 by cab. He says sure thing! (yay!)

We start chatting in the car and he tells me he's in digital media/ digital video that sort of thing.. he might be working on a project where he's after a couple of photogs to send around Australia to film and take pictures. (!)

Exactly up my avenue. He gives me a card and says to drop in or give him a call sometime.. And speaking of up my avenue, he's going exactly pass where I'm going.. the exact street even. I get a lift back into uni.

I've had the most bizarre day.

But still no lens. *raaaah umph* footinmouth

gita: Thanks muchly! But I'll be up in Mt Glorious for a bit.. Have a ride sorted though. biggrin Can't wait for Sunday! Actually. I can wait for Sunday. I can't wait for things that come in the mail, taunt me- then cause me to lose MUCH sleep. ubbcrying

Mmm! Got to take a couple of pictures so far, but not nearly enough because I'm running back and forth so much for uni.. Was thinking of going to shoot a couple pics of an outdoor installation art (my leaf thing) today, but it looks ridiculously blustery outside. The trees look just about ready to uproot!

No rainclouds to be seen- just blustery as a day in Winnie the Pooh land. And I hear things falling everywhere.. Bit surreal.. smile

However.. to deflect attention from my picayune of a pop culture faux pas, I ask you if it was deliberate that Cantus J Fraggle rearranges to spell Can Juggle Farts. tongue

Elmo porn.. Very very wrong.

And someone's written a letter to US Senators mentioning it!
https://www.dcia.info/About/12-31-04_letter.htm

quote.. "The current Kazaa family filter, for instance, set at its maximum level and password-protected so it cannot be circumvented by children, will return no Elmo porn images or videos, while Yahoo will return 36,900 Elmo porn results"
