So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

You may need to tip the monitor slightly if you wish to accurately point at the sunglasses though.

I suggest about 30 degrees towards you and erm... it might be easier just to stand it up on the right, front corner....

I see. Don't know about winning the lottery- I suspect they make fictional winners up. If I won it though.. biggrin Couple of photo related gear, couple of toys, and a couple of plane tickets! Though. I say that but would probably end up putting it in the bank and living off interest..

Well try not to win at the same time as me. Cos if you go buying plane tickets and jetting off and I fly over to nostralia, I shall be most miffed about not meeting you.

In other news.. yes the shoulder.. the shoulder... well. Went to the physio today. Damaged (slight tear) one of the four tendons in my rotator cuff, namely the supra-spinatis. Have been ordered off poi and off any stress causing activities, and given a regimen of exercises to strengthen the other three so that they don't degenerate.

What this means to me. No more flowers. May be able to do waistwraps biggrin

ubbcrying

I don't think I ever want to try to use a whip again.

It'll be better by Adelaide though *fingers crossed*

Took it easy at moonfest?? I had so much painkillers in me I don't think it could possibly have been any good.. Taking a shirt off now is a mission.. So's lifting the shoulder ever so slightly so that my wrist can move the mouse. Not good..

Thanks- I'm going through your photos right now! Nice stuff, especially the hula shots.. gave me some brilliant inspiration biggrin

Pixies.. a photoshoot in about a month maybe? Would much like it sooner, but my camera's going off to Sydney tomorrow, and I'm getting a new lens in a couple of weeks.. not to mention it's rather short notice..

*slowly endeavouring to make Brisbane the most visually documented fire spot..*

Contact without dance is like sex without wiggling.
A) it does feel as good
