So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

Mmm.. the moon was gorgeous. Saw it rising as Sara and Raven got married in a pagan ceremony before moonfest.. Was really nice.

Sara's not on HoP, but I mean this girl:

Sara said something I thought was really nice in her vows.. something to the effect of nobody's perfect.. life's about finding the right wrong person for you.. (was probably said in much better wording though) ubblove

Ry! Do you really have a pet camel!!!! You must be kidding! really? What do they eat? Oh, so many questions....Sooooo cute!

I must post you a picture of me and my pet bear, Sumlee.I knew her just for a year, ages ago, when I was living with a Thai family that had a big property and took in animals. Did you know bear tongues are like cat tongues, but more so? Seriously scratchy. Being licked was like getting scoured with an abrasive pad or something. But man, sure cant beat a bear hug. Awesome.

Sara, never met her, but I like her. From the pic I can tell shes furry in a darkish purpley kinda way. And marrying a Raven. I have thought of marrying a guy named Crow. So she is my kinda person wink

Love is truly a beautiful thing ,encompassing all our little flaws and quirks. I was having some of the first signs of love twinge-ings/pangs/spasms haha last night. I might be falling , we shall see. Tomorrow is Pie making day at my place , always a make it or bake it point in a relationship... lol I guess I should take love more seriously, hey? Or not. He seems as nutty as me,which is rare!

Had a brilliant piggyback ride down a hill in the forest at about 4am... I felt like I was right up there with the moon. biggrin

Perhaps sometime, long long ago and far far away, long before Man walked the earth, and Time began to tick, Bear and Cat had a little smackdown match . Brawn against Brain. It was a struggle so dynamic,so magnificent in scale, that Reality was inadvertantly turned upside down . Somehow, someway, after some seriously extreme acrobatic manouveurs that used up almost all nine lives- the wily Cat miraculously managed to steal away with a tiny bit of Bears tongue- and kept it for his very own.

To this day, bears and cats of all kinds instinctively keep a pretty respectfully big distance from each other* , not wanting a repeat of that infamous bloody tumble through the woods . Bears in general remain a little grumpy due to this bad behaviour on Cats part, and lingering embarrassment at been outsmarted by such a spoiled cunning little creature. The cats still gloat over their victory;I am sure you have seen them doing this, calling attention to themselves while pridefully and meticulously licking their fur.

So,do watch out. If you are brave enough to get within licking distance of a Bear, you might just notice, in the few moments before you get eaten, that the bears tongue is just like the cats, but only more so--- as it was really his to begin with.

* Camels too...Now, as for Camels tongue, we will have to get Ry to tell us all about that!

No, I don't really have a camel, but I thought the accidentally matching teal fisherman pants and leash would help me convince people into thinking that I did.. biggrin You know. Taking the camel down to the shops and all ubblol..

You had a pet bear?? I guess they'd have catty tongues.. seeing how their fur's probably as thick as brush. How big was Sumlee and what kind f bear was she?

Yeah Sarah was pretty dark, purplish and furry in that picture. She says (apparently) that's her vodka picture. Looks a beet Rah-ssian. *hefty laugh*

Marriage. Sounds like such a big thing. What happened to Mr Crow in the end? Wait no.. falling? For who! Tell tell!! Tel Aviv!

4am piggyback down a hill.. aww ubblove Sounds like it was a moment wink *nudge*

Thanks for the poem too. I really like it. Though. Breath into me or breathe into me ( I suppose either could work.. the former with a bit more poetic license though..)

Uhm. Phosphenes =

confused

Camel tongues hehe.. I hear erm.. they're muscular and very strong? or hang on.. was that giraffe tongues.. I think it was giraffe tongues.. they eat thorny acacias!

Pat: ubblol Hmm. Usually the parents are older than the kids don't you think? hehe. For that matter, I wonder if anyone out there is older than their adoptive parents- maybe in America.. ubblol Someone write to Jerry Springer.

Gnor: Gabe's croc is Todo's imaginary friend donchaknow.. wink A camel windvane!!! I want! I don't know where I'd put it or what I'd do with it, but I want!! ubblol Judging by the quantity of your windvane posts recently, I'm guessing you stumbled on the motherload of all windvane stashes?

Lou: Reading the paper's only bad when you forget the customer you just said 'hang on a minute' to 10 minutes ago.. I wish I had some time to read the papers at work! I've got time to log into HoP, but not enough time to post shrug or read a post.. frown

Meow meow meow maaaow.. ubbangel Cat tongues heehe.. *licks*

Phosphenes.. I love it! Reminds me of those plankton you sometimes see glowing if you go to a beach at night and use a stick to scratch the sand where the tide's just come up onto.. ubblove Don't see them very often, but it's always fascinating.. keep scratching the sand cos you wish they'd stay lit a bit longer, next thing you know, the whole beach is scratched up ubblol!

Hope assessment's coming along well, and the meegraines are far far away! hug hug

Kels: If there's one thing that's a bit worrying.. how come so many people over there still use kerosene! chuh. spank Full moon party.. how was it? And what rehearsals were you going to?

Sarah: uhm. Yup. How else would I get to work in the morning. No rego on a camel. biggrin Straw, hay and random fruit/vegies cost about the same as fuel. And no jams on the camelway during peak hour.

Chels: Cat tongues are cool.. If bear tongues are more like cat tongues than cat tongues, then bear tongues must be cooler than cat tongues. If you had a cat tongue and a bear tongue and showed them to a stranger, I'm guessing the person would say the bear tongue was indeed cooler- you could prove it by the fact it would probably attract more attention. Therefore. If bear tongues are cooler than cat tongues, they are more like cat tongues than cat tongues. Obviously. peace

Lol! I so don't want to get eaten by a bear. "Aww.. so cuute.. you look just like Winnie the.. aaargh aargh... it's got my arm!!" ubblol

Jean: Mmm. The way I see it, phosphenes soo beat glitter wink The first two weeks at the job have been super! Well mostly. If anything, the workload's been quite high. The photographics and consumer elecs section has been a bit understaffed, in comparison to our other depts, but then the other divisions bring in more money, so we're not sure if they'll fix the problem. For now, it's good.. haven't burnt myself out just yet. Though last night I slept for a whole 11 and a half hours! How's your side miss? hug

gita: Sigh. Didn't manage to go. I was so tired I had to turn in early. From how well the Friday gig seemed to go, I guess I missed out frown! Oh well.. there'll be a next time. Apparently it wasn't Kate Miller Heidke that night.. was The Boat People instead.. I want to hear her sometime.. Saw your Kate pic.. Coool!

Fi: Heya miss Fi! Long time no see, hope the cooking and UK-ing's going fantastic.. hug It's all going good. Jobiness is a good thing. Though for some strange reason, I seem to find myself with a lot less free time than before.. It's good to have some regular money coming in.. still waiting for my first pay packet though. How's you? And when are we going to see you back here? Are we going to see you back here? ubbangel
