So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

ya know, a whale shark once tried to overturn a little boat Nick and I were in. Scary! You see, he had just finished singing a Nova Scotian Sea Shanty...

no, seriously! It happened ! It really did! My mom was even in the boat too, you can even ask her!

I think the Nova Scotian sea shanty either:

1- makes whale sharks very very angry, angry so they go into a crazed destructive mode trying to overturn and smash boats that are way way smaller than they are.eek .., or

2- acts as an irresistable aphrodisiac, ubblove attracking the hulky masculine whale shark, who then , sadly, mistakenly and unsuccessfully, attempts to mate with aforesaid cute petite boat...

Either way it is a pretty powerful song.Nick had no idea the power he was unleashing, I am sure.

I fail to see how nasty fanged tomatoes come in to it,
ubbloco but maybe I missed something during all the screaming. Glitter should be featured in the story somewhere, perhaps Nick was wearing some? I know I wasn't.The ocean was sort of glittery that day though.

( oh, for those of you who are truly lost on the whole subject, Nova Scotia is a place in Canada, a province actually, surrounded by ocean.People there sing a lot, and thus a sea shanty is a song about the sea, or sung on the sea, usually while drunk. Or maybe just people I know sing them while drunk. Think things along the lines of the classic" oh, what shall I do with a drunken sailor..",
beerchug that sort of thing, but better.

A Whale shark is a very big fish, but not a fish, cause I think it is a whale, not a shark, so actually a mammal?Perhaps it was having an identity crisis. Who knows these things? At any rate. They are supposed to be rare. One does not usually have them close enough to pet.)

oh yeah, location, location, location. No whale sharks in Nova Scotia , this was in Thailand. So maybe it was just startled.

Well, that about reaches my nonsense quota for today,
wink
hug

A man was seen walking through downtown with a desk strapped to his back, a typewriter under one arm, and a wastebasket under the other. He was stopped by a policeman, asked what he was doing, and arrested when he replied, "Impersonating an office, sir!"

A very modest lady applied for a job at the factory where they made Tickle Me Elmo dolls. It was Friday and almost quitting time, and hurriedly the boss told her to report for work on Monday. He quickly explained to her that she would be stationed on the assembly line just before the dolls were packed into boxes and gave her instructions.

On Monday they started up the line; and within twenty minutes, they had to shut it down again. Apparently, one worker couldn't keep up.

The boss went down the line to find the problem. As he approached the new lady, she was very busy trying to do her part, but she had a bunch of dolls waiting for her.

Closer examination showed she was sewing little cloth bags containing two walnuts in the appropriate place on the dolls.

The boss could not control his laughter and said, " No! I said to give each doll Two... Test... Tickles!"
