So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

Pete: mmm.. ah. Yup.. so the iriver's just like an external drive, but with an interface of its own. I remember when I was shopping for mine I needed one which could connect straight to my camera (didn't seem to find any of these), or one that could take files straight from a memory card.. Am pretty happy with mine, and got it at quite a good price too.. It's a Vosonic x's drive vp6230. I hear quite a few similar ones are out now.. like the more expensive ipod photo, and a couple from Epson etc. Well, anyway, you're free to use my comp if you need to download the photos first before you can put it in the iriver. smile

An update:

Have just got a letter from uni- graduated! Bachelor of Creative Industries (with distinction) (Art & Visual Culture, Television submajors, Digital Media minor). GPA 5.818 on a 7 point scale. smile

Also, a photo of mine's been published today- xmas eve Courier Mail pg. 52, back of the Car's Guide, in the Weekend Guide. The photograph's of Jesse twirling a staff, can't miss it- (biggest photo on the page wink) as promotion for the upcoming Woodford Folk Festival (QLD, Australia). Will try to get the article scanned or digitised somehow eventually..

Have myself video capability now, so it's just a matter of organising. I'm sure he'd be in demand.

Also! Just watched your vid! Great stuff.. envious of the elbow elbow change direction thing, and that trippy thing towards the end between the legs- like the poi were bouncing on the floor? Looked neat. Hope all's well your side of the world.. Catch up soon! cool

General stuff: Happy holidays everyone! Those of you at Woodford, very envious. All of you not at Woodford, wherever you are, I'm also very envious wink Take care and be well grouphug hug hug beerchug

Sam: Heya smile Have been wondering what you've been up to. Busy working this holiday season? confused Myself.. mm having a decent amount of fun- would be a bit more fun if you guys weren't hogging all the cold weather. But yes.. things are good. The snorkelling/fishing sunburn's finally under control now (note the importance of sunscreen!), though I predict a couple of activities in mid Jan could test what sunsmarts I've absorbed. In other news, New Year's was hehe.. uneventful. I slept through it biggrin Half planned to by the time I decided to concuss though. How's you?

Though someone once told me about some apartment block in the city using retina scan technology- which I never witnessed- all I see are lousy and ridiculously overpriced unlimited broadband plans, and not enough mobile service providers providing unlimited calls.. hehe But then I could be having a whinge, which'd give you the right to tell me 'aww diddums' ubblol
