Stupidly drunk and violent!

Well i've just not had the most fun night out of my life, I went out with friends etc for an early christmas party/work thingy and all was good until this foreign bloke (will not be racist or prejudice as everyone has a right to the planet!) thought it would be a great idea to start on our group (well the blokes in it) as we all started argueing we got asked to leave understandbly well and any how the story goes on to this bloke ranting and us all ranting back, he then throws the first punch and then it all kicks off tables and fists are everywhere.

The next thing he pulls a bottle and smashes it into my brothers face (he was with us for the laugh!) and cuts (luckly) his forehead (deep cut though) and proceeds to turn round and smack my brothers friend which has now landed him in icu (intensive care) with major swelling to the brain and and massive blood clot he has a very slim chance of survival who as i type has now been rushed to oxford to have all his head cut open to see if they can save him!

This is censored how his girlfriend was still standing i dunno he's a close friend of the family and never deserved any of the violence he did not actually do anything, to see people that can't handle thei drink act in such a profoundly stupid way is unbelievable and this was a grown man who should of known better, and now i remeber why i went through 5 years of being tee total!

Nobody needs to act this way surely (well at least not for good reason!) what are everyone elses views? anyway i'll get off this -> soapbox and be on the ground like everyone else rant over i swear!

well, i'm not immune to getting a little liquored past the point of standing. but as for why people decide to escalate it to a physical level is beyond me. i've heard these horror stories before and they disgust me everytime i hear them. also vengeance is not really my style but in this case i see a damn good reason for it.

despite this, my thoughts are with your friend.

Aww that sucks honey!

I feel for your bud in ICU.

I don't understand how people can get so pissed off at another person while drunk that they start violence. Even if not drunk I'm sure this guy would of been willing to start a fight without alcohol being involved.

hug My prayers are with your bud and with the rest of yall who have suffered.

Did they arrest the guy? If your friend were to die wouldn't they charge the main with some type of manslaughter?

lol, fine for you pk, but i find(as an underage drinker) that theres something really f***ed up about alcohol and the fact that its legal. i've only got drunk a few times but when i see my mates getting off their face and throwing up it makes me wonder why the hell would it even be legal for people(overage) to do this? its rediculous!
More over i dont see why people say they have a few drinks for a 'good time', the best times of my life have been when i'm completely sober/clean of any drugs.
i could keep ranting but i'll stop myself now, i just think alcohol is really f***ing rediculous

PK that is really harsh the whole point of my rant was against drinking and not for you to come in and pointlessly say drink more beer this lad has nearly died, has suffered substantial wounds and has just come out of 6 hours of major brain surgery......... would you like to go through all that and still not know whether you will live or die? i know for a fact i wouldn't!

Thanks for everyone else's support so far though,

Just for the update he has come out of surgery is in a very critical position but they are working on him.

And the best of the situation is that the police have done naff all and even saw the bloke that did this around town, apparently as he's well know they didn't feeel like doing much! Stupid northants police

im sorry i have to disagree with u majestik, i like a few drinks on a night out but i can control my behaviour. its legal becoz its a stimulant of many different things. yes ppl who behave like that n who make themsleves ill shudnt drink - fair point. alcohol has a relaxing effect on most people n sittin in the pub with good company n a cold pint is something i appreciate n enjoy.

pinkboot im sorry to hear about ur friend thats really sucky - where abouts in northampton did it happen?

My toughts are with your freind darlin' hug and the poliece are blody useless, soryy for anyone in the force here but you are. Dont expect much from them...

I have never understood why people resort to random violence and espically when they are drunk.
a few weeks ago i was in the UK, about 4 in the morning after walking a lady friend back home i had to walk through town and to my firnds apartment where i was staying. only to be followed by two very intimidating skinheads saying ''i really wana smack sombody, all that stella has got mee ready for a fight'' at which point i was VERY happy to see half of the hockey team i used to play for and stop to have a chat! God knows what would have happend had i not found the ''lads''...

hmmm being an experienced drinker i have seen a lot of violence from people when they are drunk.

thing is that some people can handle their drink and just have a good time. the drink removes your inhibitions and unfortunately some people have a lot of violence stored inside.

they ruin it ofr those of us who just have a good time when we are drunk.

if you see the crappy types go the other way. i find that helps but i do agree that epople should know their limits and if they tend to get violent then they should drink less or not at all.

Hope your bro and his friend are ok

If hope can grow from dirt like me.....It can be done.

i'm sorry to hear that, but i find the saddest thing is it will probably happen to somebody else, as long as alcohol is redily available.

i cant express how much simpathy i have for you, and my frustration that that is all i can do for you and his family.

thats the worst thing. you or i cant do anything(ignore my depressionistic beliefs those who have hope).

its like cigarettes, everone knows its bad for you but while there are powerful groups in society making billions of dollars out of it the average person cant do anything except spread their views. which is a start, eventually i think cigarettes will be abloished as people become more and more concious of how bad they actually are. and hopefully the same will eventually happen with alcohol, but i doubt it will be in our lifetime.
