Another newbie, and don't really know what to say, so it'll be whatever comes into me head.. which is cuppa right now, back in 5. ooohhh thats better.

The first time I see poi was in Oz when I travelled there, then I decided to have a go... hmmmm.... then I met more people doing it and whenever I got the chance would grab their poi and try to learn. Each person I met had more experience and taught me more, then I left Oz and poi was no longer available, so I bought my own set and started looking online for guidance.. and found this site where I see one of the video's and see what could be done and was quite amazed!!!!

I'm now living in Cork Ireland, and plan to travel Europe with the same intention as I did in Oz... to live n learn, play me guitar n learn poi, juggling, devil sticks, staff etc etc and met all the people I can.

Well, thats just a wee bit of me.
Cheers to you all
Bretch

wave hullo!! welcome to hop! clap

be prepared with your opinion of the colour pink...you will soon need it!! biggrin

so many questions come to mind...do you like frogs? how did you find out about hop? what colour are your eyes? what's your favourite song? do you call it 'spinning' or 'twirling'? ubblol

yeah, i think that'll do for now! i'm sure others will ask you lots of other useless facts about yourself!! biggrin

do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good to eat!

if at first you do succeed, try not to look too astonished!

smile! it confuses people!

Well, I could never wear a pink shirt, but pink knickers would be fine and pink hair can be V. cool. Frogs, the psychedelic types are nice to lick, my cat likes frogs.. to play with until eaten that is ooooops. I was trying to find an online store to buy my poi, and kept coming across this site. Eyes, ubbangel blue, I think . Fav song... too hard, I love all kinds of music and picking one song is just too hard.

I call it poi'ing, due to my introduction to poi. ubbloco

Welcome to HoP, Bretch. "Poiing." Now there's an idea. I know that most of us are native English speakers and therefore have an irrational aversion to the idea of two i's next to each other in any word except Hawaii (which isn't English), but maybe this word will do it for us. I assume that "poi," being a Maori loan-word, can get "-ing" attached without too much trouble. Ah, the flexibility of language--gotta love it!

"To my delight, I discovered that poi are amazing movement exploration tools. They are guides. They are teachers. They are like Yoda, only smaller and on strings." --Nick Woolsey, also known as Meenik

Enjoy your time at HoP and remember never to click any links left by UCoF unless you are certain where they will take you or you have a very strong stomach! ubblol
