Welcome to the Lennep Files!!!

So, yesterday, I went out for a walk with my host mum, and took some pictures of the town we live in, Lennep. It's actually called Remschied, but Remschied is really a city made up of a bunch of surrounding towns, such as Lennep.

It is absolutely amazing and fascinating. I love the Altstadt (can't remember if that is proper spelling), which litterally means Old town. It's what I would call the 'downtown'. It is in the regular amazingly old town format: streets going every which way till Tuesday, with a central point and a church in the middle of it all!

I love it down there, because it's like things from the 1500's and things from 2004 are everywhere you look. And you can't decided whether it should be an old town, or a new town! Modern things in ancient buildings... It's crazy!

the town center itself is dated back in old monastary books as far back as 850 years ago.... And that's waaaaay older than Canada itself! It's so funny, because all my friends think "yeah, whatever, there's nothing to do in this town, it's so booooring" But I look around and it has such charm, charactor, and history.... It's so nice here smile

Enjoy smile

Damnit Bobo! I'm so jealous. I so want to go on a foreign exchange student program to Germany. *sigh*

How's your host family treating you? Good I hope.
Speaking German much? Or at least attempting to wink

Get on AIM sometime :P Even though there's a 9 hour time difference from you and me though... but I talk to people from Germany alot on AIM!

*walks away muttering about how jealous he is*

Wow! What a beautiful town!!

Its the sort of place where they should have banned cars, as they look to be in complete contrast with the setting around them!

I wish! but I'd rather them ban smoking first - smells horrid when you're behind someone happily puffing (and coughing) away! *puke* Then again, smoking is allowed in school once you're beyond grade 11 frown

Why does everyone bash MSN? It obviously rules all above others biggrin No, I just can't stand AIM, or ICQ... and never tried Yahoo!

Aaah well!

The only thing this place is missing, is another spinner! Preferably a better one, so they can teach me... But Pink is telling me to come to London on MSN, and I sooo wish I could!

You have to come to London. You live so close (well closer then you used to).
You have no decent excuse (money, and permission are not qualified excuses)

How long are you there? I'll see if I can get a plane ticket there and spend some time in Germany :P Then I wouldn't have to get MSN! Yay that'd be nifty. Or goto London and chill a bit there... *hmm's* The possibilities!

Go by train, a lot cheaper and safer than if you were to do the same in the US!

Yes, yes, no time or money are very poor excuses indeed! I fully expect on seeing other poists around the US someday! I've already crossed the US to meet glowstickers... =D

See, Kael, normally spinners come to me. tongue

Today is my host mum's birthday, and we're going out to see a slideshow of pictures of Australia! ubblol:D I gave her sock poi, and a promise of poi lessons the whole time I'm here! She already had one today biggrin (Unfortunately, I realized during it that I can no longer do fwd btb weave >.<')

But this week has been pretty stressful, actually, because I've had tests, and done badly in them, and I feel down because of it. to me, the language barrier does no *real* justice because I still feel that I should know. But tomorrow night, I'm going out to a concert of a band (two members are in my class).

Yesterday I went rowing again, and wow ubblove Will definately have to look into it when I get home!

For some reason today, I feel like I'm in a completely different world... I've been reading all day (the Mists of Avalon, almost done!), and been looking at castles, and went to one on the weekend even! Also I went to the cemetary with my host mom, and umm.... host Oma? ubblol In anycase, it's given me quite a bit of thinking to do, and I think my opinion has changed on something - but that's a different topic smile

I know it sounds stupid, but today it seems there is a passion in my heart for something, although I don't know what! argh! ubblolredface
