don't be deceived...
she's only been spinning poi for 2 months, but she is a natural - she already has:
5- and 7-beat weaves
forward and reverse BTB weave with turns
inverted weaves
the beginnning of isolations
one handed butterflies
and a whole bunch of other stuff - and it's all clean too.
it is almost sickening to watch her master stuff ina few minutes that took me months to learn. in a month she had more technical moves than I had after 18 months.

already a 7 beat? I've yet to figure out how to get any higher than 5. everytime I try I turn into a human pretzel for a second & then get bashed in the face. I'm jealous too!

oh, that is just modesty talking - she is that good. She is such a friggin fast learner that I don't even have a chance to take any credit for it!
granted she doesn't have so much ability with transitions or dancing with it yet, but I'm sure that is only a few weeks away...

Wow...I had no idea you'd pick up spinning, Sandra! Go you! Man...she's got more moves in her 2 months than I have...I still can't quite get behind the back forward weave.
I can do isolations, though I'm not as consistent as I'd like to be...and I've started hyperloops, but I'm not very good.
And...I'm not even attempting 7 beat or 9 beat weaves...I let Mand do those.
Anyway.....WELCOME!!!

And yes after watching people (particularly one
) for a long time doing it I caught the poi bug too and it's lots of fun for me .It is almost so much fun as meet people with the same bug

Most people find them quite tasty. Spitfire keeps a supply of them on hand in the chatuea over in her intro thread. There's also fresh ones for those of us that don't like chocolate.
Please do tell about the name. I've heard of Baba Yaga, but I'm guessing yours is not related to that.

Ich glaub ich will auch nich für immer hier leben, will aber mein Studium hier fertig machen, was dann kommt mal sehen.
