Hello everyone, I am just learning Poi and glowstick swinging. I don't have any Poi or anything I have been using pencils and stuff to start out with but I was wondering how to make Poi with just stuff around the house for now. I was also wondering how I can learn more about using glowsticks with no strings attached because I have looked all over the place trying to find a site that has it but no one seems to have anything about it frown I would love to learn everything there is to know about all this...I'm a very eager learner and if there's anyone that could or would be able to help me pls tell me smile Thanks a bunch

Look here and click on "construction"

Alternatively try the search function at the top of the page and you'll find oodles of similar threads.

And welcome, have a good look around and help yourself to cake.

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.

sock poi, most definately

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

A Mands best friend! biggrin

Just put some rice into a couple of balloons (and suck all the air out), or into a pair of socks, and tie.
Put these in the end of long socks, and tie a knot above them.
Spiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin to your heart content.

welcome, youve come to the right place

i would also sugest the search function and sock poi

another kind i like is a compresed ball of newspaper(one sheet is usually enough) covered in plastic on the end of a string, it dosent hurt much

has anyone ever tried koosh balls on the end of strings? that would probaly be good

anyways, good luck!!!!!

I made some practice poi from fabric of an old shirt. I hand sewed it into a pocket, & filled it with dried split peas then finished sewing it closed. Then I bought some heavy duty hiking boot laces & sewed that to the bags & tied a loop at the opposite end of the laces. Just make sure to measure the split peas, or beans would work, before you put them in so that you can put the same amount in each one & measure the length of your laces, or string so that they end up pretty even. It took me about an hour to make a set because I hand sewed them, but they work great.

Never settle for normal.devil
