'Lo there, I'm Domino and I've been doing Poi now for about 3 days. I haven't yet thrown my DIY-socks-tied-to-string-poi out of the window in frustration yet so I think there might be a future in this -- at least for another week biggrin

To pre-empt a few question:

I'm not really a fan of the colour pink as it links to some childish idea that it somehow insults my maschimo, dumb I know but that's what childhood does to you. Sorry.

Favourate quote changes every other day. Currently "For sale: Parachute. Only used once. Never opened. Small stain."

I learnt about poi from a friend in Sunny South Africa, I saw him doing it about 2 years ago and figured it was about time to look into it.

Hope to talk to you all later

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.

Is it the Truth?
Is it Fair to all concerned?
Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

I gather it's traditional to use this bit as a diary so I'll try and keep it updated when I go traveling. I leave Monday. Scarey eek

Woah.

Loads has happened and it's only been two weeks. Not nearly enough time or internet access so I think this whole entry might been done in one go, cobbled together from emails and my journal when I get back in September. If anyone finds themself in Swaziland stop by Swaziland Backpackers for poi, green and loads of friendly people. Durban's not that great but you can learn to dive nearby, exactly where I'm headsed.

To think, I was freaking out about traveling biggrin

Real men use real socks Puk, they gotta look like socks. Not these girlly stretchy thing I see around. 'Sides, they're my dad's old rugby socks, had a certain amount of sentimentality while I was traveling ubbrollsmile

Quick repeat of the thank you from Social Chat

I've just got back from 8 months galavanting around the world and just wanted to say a M-A-S-S-I-V-E thank you to all the hoppers out there that made my trip that much better.

So in vague chronological order hugs to Rozi (for everything), Antony, Esme, Phaerie (and say thanks to Paul for me - DIG DEEP! ubblol), Ry, Puk, Newgabe, Arsn, Valura, funkwaxpuppy, Psyco Lemming, Idam, Shen Shui (shame I never got to meet you) and Malcome (ditto, and of course without you I never would have met any of them)

And there's more! I'm so sorry if I've left you out, I know there's others but I don't remember your HoP names

So again

THANK YOU!

hug ubbrollsmile
