holy crap that was fun =]
i went out tonight, after practicing for a month and a half, preparing my parents for the inevetability, and bought some cheap cotton bar mops. a little stainless steel wire and lots of cutting and wrapping later, i had my first set of poi heads.
now ya see, i assumed that bugging my parents for a month about letting me light up, and spinning tennis balls for even longer, would have prepared them for the fact that one day, i would in fact, spin fire. apparently they didn't get the message.
but i finally convinced them to let me light one of the heads and spin it.
it was beautyful. i can't wait to do it with both of em, and then i can't wait for my monkeyfist's to arrive. this is so much freakin fun =]
Lights dancing off my skin as chains wrap round it.
Pain is in a little box and I'm so glad I found it.

especially if u draw patterns on them with uv marker.

hey, congrats...feels good to be able to be able to hold your head up and say "yes, i am a fire spinner...and i have the burns to prove it."
feels good though doesn't it? the first fire...after that it never gets old...

I got my first war wound on my second fire spin hehe
I only spin fire on special occasions, I use my tattered bean bag and tail poi all other times. *Must buy more*

oddly enough my freind chez lent me his camera.
started looking at the footage and weve got him hitting his mate rich full on in the stomach.
and my first burn. ahhhh

interesting nonetheless, and its true the feeling you get never goes away. you become more comfortable with the fire but the thrill i got when doing the 3beat weave and turning to upwards is the same as i get now doing slightly more intermediate stuff i can now manage

Lucky! I don't think my 'rents will ever let me spin fire while I live with them (although what they don't know can't hurt them...) I think I'm probably still a long ways away from it, though "I know a good deal more than a boiled carrot."
